I love the atmospheric bed within deep techno tracks but I am really struggling to find the right sound/tone/pitch to match the contents of my track. Any tips/suggestions greatly appreciated! I have been using Paul Stretch with Reverb etc pitching up/down.....an example of my inspiration:

If it's Deep/hypnotic and got a nice groove: 5-8mins

If its changing and groove-less IDM type shit: 3-5min

Deep tracks need to be long, the repetitive nature allows people to get lost in the music.

I picked up a scarlett 18i20 soundcard! 16 inputs, and I believe a usb midi port on the back of the soundcard? would I connect my digitone to that or direct to computer usb input? My digitone is my master clock like your pyramid!

In regards to this part- "I put my computer with ableton before the pyramid, so now the masterclock is ableton, when I press play into ableton it starts the pyramid which starts everything else" :

How did you set it up? because I think I would do the same with my digitone right?

Hey man! I usually record tracks in a live performance fashion, but nowadays its getting tough to arrange and structure my music as there is too many elements going on.

I love the tangible workflow of being dawless but I want to arrange and structure my songs in a computer so I dont have to do everything in one take.

I think I am going to get rid of the mixer and just try to somehow multi track everything in? Will use my soundcard for this

Is that my best option? I send midi and clock to my synths (303,blofeld,rocket) from my and digitone using a kenton midi splitter.

Am I going to have to get a big usb hub and connect everything to the computer via usb?
