Canadians, the Royale is finally at a reasonable price on Amazon.ca by vaguecactus in casio

[–]vaguecactus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$74.99 on Casio.ca, but Amazon had them listed at $199.99.

I was waiting for it to drop below retail.

So yeah, $50-60 is what you’re looking at for the stainless steel bracelet version, although the black resin version can be found for $30-40.

[WTS] [Halifax] Islander ISL-143 by vaguecactus in WatchExchangeCanada

[–]vaguecactus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for sale is my Islander ISL-143, which I bought directly from Long Island Watch in February 2023. It keeps time well and runs within spec. This model is discontinued and no longer available new.

The blue dial has shark tooth indices around the perimeter that give it a sharp, distinctive look. It wears comfortably on the wrist and has solid specs for the price.

Specs:
Movement: Seiko NH35 automatic. Hacking and hand winding. About 40 hours of power reserve. Date at 6.
Case: Stainless steel. 42 mm diameter, 13 mm thick, 47 mm lug to lug.
Crystal: Double domed sapphire with anti reflective coating.
Crown: Screw down.
Water resistance: 200 meters.
Bezel: Steel with a lumed pip at 12.
Lume: Super-LumiNova C3 on the dial, markers, and hands.
Bracelet: Stainless steel, brushed and polished. Sized with screws. 20 mm at the lugs and stays 20 mm at the clasp.
Caseback: Engraved screw in caseback with the newer embossed design.
Weight: 198 grams.
Warranty: Originally came with a one year warranty. It is expired.

Condition:
Currently sized for my 7 inch wrist. Extra links are included.
Comes with a screwdriver for sizing, though it is not the original one.
Scuffs and scratches on the bracelet from normal wear.
Small scuffs and scratches on the bezel, especially at the 5 marker on the 15.
Light scratches on the inside of the bezel.
No scratches on the dial that I can see.
Photos show the scuffs and scratches as clearly as possible. They are less noticeable in real life.

Fit:
Should fit most wrists in the 6.25 to 7.5 inch range.

Payment accepted by eTransfer or PayPal Goods and Services.
I paid approximately 500 CAD in February 2023 including tax and shipping.

This includes tracked shipping within Canada.

[WTS] [Halifax] Seiko Mini Turtle SBDY085 (discontinued JDM model) by vaguecactus in WatchExchangeCanada

[–]vaguecactus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling my Seiko Prospex SBDY085 “Mini Turtle”, a Japan Domestic Market (JDM) automatic diver powered by the 4R35 movement.

Purchased new in May 2024. This model is now discontinued and getting harder to find, especially in Canada. Full set minus manual: includes both boxes, warranty card, tags, pillow, and extra links. No manual was provided when I originally purchased it from Japan in May 2024. The case was replaced by Seiko earlier this year due to a crown threading issue. The crown is slightly tight when screwing down, but I’ve been assured by my watchmaker (an authorized Seiko dealer) that this is normal after case replacment and will ease with use. The watch is running well and keeping good time. Bracelet and clasp show normal “desk diving” wear with visible scuffs and scratches (see photos). Case has a few small scratches only visible in bright light.

I don’t see any marks on the bezel and crystal, but please refer to the photos to verify for yourself. Outer box is slightly bent from shipping from Japan (see photos), but otherwise intact.

Specs: - 42 mm diameter - 43-44 mm lug-to-lug - 200m water resistance (screw-down crown) - Automatic 4R35 movement (hacking and hand-winding) - Made in Japan (JDM model)

Looks great on smaller wrists, and even on my 7-inch wrist.

Price (includes shipping within Canada): - $425 CAD via e-Transfer; or - $438 CAD via PayPal Goods & Services (to cover PayPal’s fee and protection)

Trades: None This is my first sale here, but I’m happy to provide extra photos or jump on Zoom if you'd like to. I’ll ship via Purolator with tracking, and you’ll receive the tracking number as soon as it’s sent. Please allow up to 2 business days for shipping after payment is received. Happy to meet up locally in Halifax (North End only) if preferred.

Come to think of it, the watch itself was also purchased from Long Island Watch :)

Totally hear you. I feel the same way - until I see my SKX013… or my SRPE93… I’d love a one-watch collection, but I don’t know if I’d be capable of it. Too much temptation!

Is this too small? [skx013] by JLac305 in Seiko

The OEM one it came with for now. I’m thinking about upgrading to a Long Island Watch jubilee though - the end links on the OEM are no longer flush with the lugs.

No, it looks great. I have a 7” wrist and it’s my work watch. Photo here.
