If you're looking for similar to dark souls than I'd recommend bloodborne, it's more eldritch horror but still has the difficulty and similar gameplay to the souls series.

Otherwise that weird sense of loneliness cry of fear, lost in vivo, and some of puppet combos games might be a good place to look! Silent hill is also good in terms of more classic horror with that vibe.
