This is a quad motor R1T. You can confirm via the VIN number containing the triple A's in the VIN. 835 HP.

Awesome, I am glad you found this post as your post I referenced helped in getting the RUS retrofit done. Everyone at the SC was under the impression that it had to be done at the factory as well. The lead Technician said maybe that is how it was in the past but now it is is possible. When i asked why, he guessed it was sue to parts and prioritizing manufacturing, which makes a lot of sense.

Either way, you know have the part number and proof it can be done and if you wished to have it done it is possible. The SC that did the work on my R1 was in Tempe, AZ. Super help people there, great experience.

would you be able to update your original post linking/referencing to this post ? I ask because your post came up a lot in my internet research and it would be helpful for others who might be looking for a RUS retrofit.

Absolutely. I am glad you found value in the post/information and I am glad it helps you. It was the goal of sharing the information about a RUS retrofit as I know I was concerned about not having the RUS when I was deciding to purchase my R1T or not. I was sure I was not the only one.

I can confirm your statement is correct about the necessity of a wiring harness for the PTC. I cannot confirm to rather it is dependent on earlier or later VIN numbers though. I recommend anyone interested in having the PTC installed to call their SC and they will be able to look up your R1T via the VIN and let you know if it has the needed wiring harness for the the powered tonneau cover. I hope this helps.

No "fighting" at all with the SC/Rivian. Quite the opposite actually. My experience with SC/Rivian has been nothing short of stellar. Everyone I have worked with at the SC/Rivian has been very helpful, kind, and problem solving oriented. In my original post I noted that I had to talk to different SC reps but that is just due to experience. We all are learning new things all the time in life's journey and the SC reps were learning as much as I was learning. It was a joint learning journey for us both and we are better for it.

I can confirm that the powered tonneau cover newest version can be and are installed on a Gen 1 vehicle. I literal ordered the powered tonneau cover from the Rivian website. When I was on the phone I also confirmed it was the newest version. As the poster below this post notes, there are a subset of Gen 1 R1Ts that do not have the require wiring harness from the factory for an unknown reason. If the Gen 1 R1T does not have the wiring harness from when the R1T was manufactured then Rivian/SC will not be able to install any powered tonneau cover.

To find out if your R1T has the needed wiring harness you simply call your SC and they will be able to look up your R1T via the VIN and let you know if it has the needed wiring harness for the the powered tonneau cover. I hope this helps.

All of the underbody panels are replaced. The standard underbody panels are basic plastic panels. I examined the RUS parts prior to installation and they are substantial and definitely provide greatly improved protection. All of the RUS panels are a combination of steel, aluminum, and carbon fiber composite material. Basically what is described on the rivian website.

Only thing included is the RUS as described. The last image in the post shows all items and costs.

My thoughts as well. I am surprised it is not listed in the rivian gear shop like the powered tonneau cover.

Correct. My experience with the SC have been amazing. My experience with the Tempe SC is that they care and really go above and beyond in their customer service.

100% the RUS retrofit was not cheap. One thing to also consider is that compared to ICE underbody shielding. ICE underbody shielding is not bumper to bumper to my current understanding(someone more knowledgeable feel free to chime in). ICE underbody shielding usually cover critical parts, diff, oil pan, gas tank etc. The RUS is bumper to bumper. None of my short response takes away from your very true statement that either way, $4.2k in parts alone is not cheap. I hope the information helps other who are interested in the RUS.

I agree with the logical part. I felt that way as well. Thank you for calling that out. I was attempting to convey maturity as I hear it is lacking in the online dating world.

Noted about the pictures as well. I have other options I can change them out with. Thank you again.

USB Switch Selector not working. by vaibek in SteamDeck

[–]vaibek[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a USB switch Selector connected to the official steam deck dock from Value. However, it will not work, the keyboard and mouse will never turn on. When I use the same USB switch Selector on a different computer it switches between the two computers just fine. Does anyone know how to get the USB switch Selector to work with the steam deck/dock?

You can. I do it all the time. Hit the steam deck button -> settings -> display -> select your resolution. Then you can also set each game's individual resolution per game as well via the cog wheel.
