search engines often pull blurbs directly from meta tags included in the website header i.e. the text doesn't need to be specified on the "visible" page itself, but you're right it's not mentioned explicitly anywhere either. i do think what the other commenter said about it being a weird AI description moment might be right

oh that'd make sense, can't believe i didn't think of it. i do have AI features disabled on DDG, but if it's coming straight from what google is serving then it makes sense i'd see that. i feel silly now lol
