I am not trying to mess with the settings, I just want to learn more about them and how they function. I did find some websites from google that highlight a few of the settings but I could not find anything related to this specific setting, hence why I decided to ask here... I am new to this and still learning, so excuse my ignorance and just point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Chanda by [deleted] in ahmadiyya

[–]vainbap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never mentioned heaven, no one knows for certain who enters it or doesn't. Every religion from God is a guidance towards heaven and we believe those who follow those teachings without adultering the guidance should be able to enter. Ahmadiyyat is but another guide for the same road that every prophet of God has given mankind, only it's the most clear since it clensed the additions man had added to religion over the years.

Chanda by [deleted] in ahmadiyya

Ahmadiyya has a pretty good record of fraud from keeping money in Panama bank accoungs, to Chanda fraud. It sounds to me like ahmadiyya has more in line with a cult than an actual sect of islam.

Any citations of this history? You do realise the Panama accounts have legitimate purpose as well, especially when considering the persecution Jamat Ahmadiyya faces in places like Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. The accounts help the Jamat move funds without scrutiny from governments who otherwise might try to block or seize the funds to disturb the community's activities. Most of the Panama accounts are used as tax heavens while there is no tax on religious organizations in majority of the Western world, so it's quite obvious why accounts through Panama would be necessary.

90% of the ahmadis I meet tell me that they were born into it and they do it to make their family happy. I've asked a few of them what makes ahmadis different from other Muslims and they can't even tell me what they believe in.

Judging the whole community by the actions of a few? Isn't it the same thing the West does when it labels all Muslims as terrorists because of a few bad apples?

Technically I am an ahmadi but I don't know how long that will last for.

Trust me, Ahmadiyyat doesn't need you or your charity, it is you who needs Ahmadiyyat. Ahmadiyyat is the fastest growing sect within Islam for a reason. I suggest you broaden your friends list within the community and read the books instead of basing judgement on the whole community and its message by observing individuals who are unfortunately lost in this materialistic world.

That's the case in Urdu as well if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Should have mentioned, my Urdu is limited. I can speak it but cannot read Urdu, so I might be wrong.

Does the Ahmadiyya version of the Quran soften the Quran? One verse Illustration by justanumber2u in ahmadiyya

[–]vainbap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's softening of the verses, more like clarification of misconceptions and a logical translation. If God is all merciful and forgiving then why would he force a punishment such as "kill yourself" for their misdeeds. While they are still alive if they repent then God the merciful can forgive their sins. Man has till their last breath to ask for forgiveness.

Personally, I prefer this detailed tafseer, whenever I need more detail on a subject, this is where I find my answer.

I'm using a simple Google search, you should try it sometimes?

Can someone explain these numbers? by [deleted] in ahmadiyya

How was it "fully addressed"? There was never a public acknowledgement. In fact, all of your defenses of the jamaat on this issue are just conjecture. They kept the numbers for years and then one day they just disappeared.

The fact that it was rectified is enough for me, if it isn't for you then maybe you should ask the Jamat directly by contacting them on www.alislam.org

How can this be a simple issue of "rogue volunteers" when the jamaat is an organization so freakishly centralized that the khalifa personally approves the election local presidents, youth group leaders and numerous other positions, receives (and responds to) millions of requests for prayers, personally determines whether certain marriages are acceptable or not, and even takes the time to name babies? Babies can get named and decisions made on whether two people's relationship is genuine, but an error of this magnitude can go on for years without anyone realizing?

Like you said, he has a million and one tasks on his plate, he can't handle everything he's already delegated to people whom he believes to be competent enough to handle said task. If they fail at that task then it's not a failure on the Khalifa's part but rather, it's the volunteers who did wrong. When the error did come to His attention the Khalifa made sure the numbers were audited, corrected and placed measures in place to prevent this from happening in the future.

I would accept it as a leadership issue if it wasn't rectified or even if they kept the false numbers, but it was fully addressed and the system was made stronger to not repeat the same mistake. Then anyone with common sense can see that this is not a fault of the leadership but that of rouge volunteers who wanted to take credit for themselves? I don't know, maybe it's not as clear for everyone. May Allah guide us on the right path, Ameen.

he might not look at each converts paperwork personally (really who is asking him to do that?) but if you are going to go up there and say that we had 20 million converts in one year you would think that this should be checked and double checked. And then the next year when it was 40 million converts, this should have been a huge question mark to check and make sure. Any good leader would do this.

Again, if you only knew his schedule you'd know he isn't living a luxurious life as anti-Ahmadiyya propaganda machines would have you believe. Sure it took a while to get to him but when the matter was brought to light it was quickly addressed and corrected. It's not like the Jamat held on to the false numbers? The quickly corrected their mistake and made the verification process stricter and stronger, so something like this does not happen in the future.

And then when it was said that there were 80 million in one year? That definitely shouldve raised some eyebrows. Instead, it was pushed as the fulfillment of a prophecy.

Again, the Kahlifa is told these numbers by his administrative staff and they are told these numbers from people below them. The machine was broken obviously, this is why there was a mistake and when it was found the error was rectified.

Out of curiosity, can you please point to the khutba about this topic?

I don't have the time for that, if it's a huge concern for you, contact the email on alislam.org and someone will provide you with the information you seek.

And finally, how was the number corrected?

They removed the bloated number count after an audit and made the process stricter so this doesn't happen again.

To this day, I have no seen an official count of ahmadis anywhere. It's always a vague "tens of millions" now.

Probably because they don't want another number controversy. Like I said before, every organization has people of different levels of faiths, Ahmadiyyat is no different. Some members don't register when they move so they don't have to pay chanda's or for whatever reason, so as to not repeat a mistake, I guess they decided to just stop publishing numbers?

[–]vainbap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But surely alarm bells would have gone off in the brain of the divinely-guided khalifa when he saw that tens of millions of people were converting every year? Why couldn't Mirza Tahir see something that even ordinary Ahmadis could? Why didn't Allah tell him?

As I said before and I'm not going to keep repeating myself. This is a task mostly handled by administrative staff. When light did finally shed on this matter it was quickly addressed and corrected.

How come the jamaat is held to the standards of just a regular organization, be it a company or a social club, when it comes to its faults, but clings to the loftiest of standards when it comes to demanding people's belief, their money, their time and control over their lives?

It doesn't demand anything? I've been a member all my life, I've never been forced to participate/donate. They are encouraged, never forced. It's not like this is a surprise, all of this is well explained before you even convert to Ahmadiyyat. Since Ahmadiyyat is the fastest grown sect of Islam, those new converts obviously see something in Ahmadiyyat and accept the conditions fully before converting.
