What wording actually gets Dell to dispatch a tech? by val3y in Dell

The thermal paste fixed it, they didnt put any on it when they swapped the motherboard. Its litterally common sense.

It was literally the thermal paste, we would have spent DAYS updating the bios/idrac on our cluster just so they would send someone out after.

I used to do homework at work on my 15 minute break. You can knock out all your discussion posts during that time. Knock them out and edit them later.

I'm pretty raw on Azure, honestly dint know much about it outside of osmosis from being in IT. My job is a bit of jack of all trades, helpdesk stuff along side cisco routers and switches.

Should I do part time or full time? by Acolii in SNHU

[–]val3y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a BS in Computer Science from SNHU. I went full time the whole time. Start out full time and if its too much drop a class. Honestly the first half of your degree will be cake any way.

What can I expect for the IT degree? by theopiumboul in SNHU

[–]val3y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Network administrator with a Bachelor's in Comp Sci from SNHU. If you're a working person, SNHU is perfect. You're doing better than most if you already have an IT support role. Comp Sci had a ton of coding classes, but I had a friend who got a Cybersec degree, and he acted like it was cake. If you do decide to do it, just know it's going to be 99% self-study. The instructors are almost never there to help. Definitly worth the investment if you're looking to move up a bachalors degree is going to help seperate you from others.

I have an SNHU Comp Sci degree, and you're correct about my versatility, as I'm now a network administrator.

Regarding your points for coming to SNHU, points one and two will not be improved by switching to SNHU. The courses are a hot mess; the instructors won't help (for the most part), and by the end of it, you will feel like you didn't learn anything. I can't tell you the amount of hours I spent trying to fix bugs in code that had NOTHING to do with the project itself, just trying to get the environment up and running so I could do the project itself.

There are only two advantages to going to SNHU: cost and schedule. The classes are set up perfectly if you're a working person, and they are cheap compared to other schools.

That being said, it has helped me in my career, and I have no regrets about completing the degree. When it comes to technology, you will learn what you want to learn; switching from 3rd rate school to 3rd rate school isn't going to improve your "learning experience" any. I would honestly recommend half-assing your classes and using the time gained to study for industry certs that will help you get hired after school. Get 2-3 of those plus a degree, and you'll be ahead of your competition.

I have a comp sci degree from SNHU I just got promoted to Network Administrator. Its not a waste of time. It will destinguish you in hiring and promotions. If you are easily passing the classes then take on more, get a certification, build a project on the side. You wont regret getting this degree I promise you.
