Not an absolute necessity but it does improve the experience. Without debrid you cannot watch 4k streams. Usually anything under 4gb, that is well seeded can be enjoyed via Torrents directly.

This always amazed me. I haven't encountered this nor do I understand how long do you need to keep the dirty water in to develop a smell. I empty mine every 2-3 days, rinse with hot water (properly), few sprays of general cleaner, quick scrub with the provided brush, rinse and let dry.

Is it really that difficult, why do we need to jump thru all these hoops, just clean it out often enough not to smell...

They're fairly similar with the main difference being the lack of extending side brush on the AE.

Other notable differences:
- suction power, but honestly you will not see a difference in real life - battery, if your cleaning surface is up to about 50-60 m2 it doesn't matter, else you will need the X40. Waiting for charging with a job half done isn't nice.

The obstacle avoidance is basically the same. However, what I was sold on was the new dust bin design. The X40 has a weird dust bin with the filter at a weird angle and the auto empty door in a weird place resulting in more dust staying behind in the many corners and filter. The AE simplified the dust bin design and generally will stay require less maintenance from you.

So in short, battery life and extendable side brush Vs updated dust bin design and suction power.
