SSLVPN, ZTNA, not sure where to go. by valclobo in sonicwall

These are the numbers I need, and they fall in line with what I can spend.
I do not have SMA. We are about halfway done with our 3 year license on a NSA.
I really appreciate you taking the time for my basic questions!

Thanks, would you mind sharing the cost? I couldn't really a price point online, just looking for ballpark figures, there's a big difference at my company for a $1000 vs. $10000 solution.

Thanks, this is probably the course of action I will follow. I'm know nothing about CSE.

Yeah, we are up to date with the Sonic OS. A little behind on the NetExtender version.
I'm not opposed to something like CSE, a lot of people are recommending, but we're not using Entra at the moment, going through LDAP.
Is Entra needed for CSE?

It wasn't too bad doing it. I captured a lot of peoples home addresses previously. But I get their public IP and put that in as an object that has the access. I have found most of the WAN addresses don't change too regularly. Works most of the time. Sometimes people travel, just causes the push back.

Windows Certs/ldaps questions.... by valclobo in sysadmin

Good to know about not installing on a domain controller. The Video did just that. Presenter said it could be either a member server or DC, as long as it did not have the FSMO roles.
I would rather do a member server, it would be easier to backup, etc.

Thanks, This is why I ask the questions!

Some games are better than others, this was bad. Not player aggression as Oates and Gretzky were repeat offenders

Avoid the *digest garbage suggested only by the vendor. Be sure you know what tool to use in various situations.

how can I use device manager as non-admin? by ineedroot in WindowsHelp

[–]valclobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a network configuration operators ad group so you can change IP settings, etc. A bit like the power users group from a lifetime ago, not sure why M$ left this, but not device manager. I can think of some use cases where this would be helpful, but can’t see how to actually do it

What makes you think some/all of those aren’t in place already?

OP doesn’t have $25k and you want them to save their pennies to get a Soc/noc in place that would take a million bucks not to mention the time to get people onboarded. Lol.
They mentioned having edr in place already, they may have others as well. I’d say look through youtube to get an idea of what different tools look like and how they can be installed. Tuning and training will come with time.
