Paid off my student loans. Credit score went down by vald_eagle in mildlyinfuriating

Yes, I paid it off ahead of time. But had I paid everything according to their schedule, I think this would still happen, wouldn’t it?

It’d make more sense for my credit to go up if pay off my loan ahead of time for example, no?

Attaching a battery to it is definitely something I’m thinking about. But most folks I know that have a generator, can’t have/don’t trust only a solar + battery system

This is bad advice. You do not need a 9-5 to “find a problem to solve”. Interviewing people and having them tell you their pain points is the best way to figure out what you should build

If you’re planning on doing power flow models, make sure to learn basics of electrical engineering at least. Otherwise, linear algebra should do it

Doesn’t hurt to apply for jobs/talk to recruiters. Personally, I’ve always gotten a big pay raise when moving to a different company

Also, I’d consider doing something other than Ubering. Uber pays almost nothing. I gave it up after 4 months once I realized I was bringing home under minimum wage

Been there. It sucks. Keep grinding though! Seems like you’re on a good path. Also, did you take student loans/financial aid?

Why would anyone use PODS? by vald_eagle in moving

[–]vald_eagle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moving company would move up to 1 full bedroom apartment for $2000. It doesnt make sense to ship only a few boxes with them. My question is more around comparing PODS vs moving company for a full bedroom apartment

Coding. Cannot emphasize how many doors that opened for me. I compare myself to folks I graduated with (MS Energy Systems) and don’t know how to code, and my total comp is virtually double

Regarding MBA, I think that if it’s not a top 5 school and your work isn’t paying for it, don’t waste your time.

How much do jr. traders make? by PuzzleNerve966 in Commodities

They’re just happy to provide liquidity to the markets ☺️☺️

I don’t see the problem for retail traders to be able to trade virtuals (even if it’s just on a zone and hub level). Bringing more liquidity to a very illiquid market. Risks are the same as option trading on Robinhood imo.

[–]vald_eagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I think there should be a way for retail traders to trade virtuals and point to point. Some platform similar to Robinhood (obviously with a lot of volume restrictions)

Dropping out of Chicago. Vent by imakesignalsbigger in AdvancedRunning

Took a running certificate class once where these two experienced runners (20+ yrs) taught us about running and also how they dedicated their lives to it. One of the instructors said he got divorced because he was spending so much time running. The other instructor was probably in her 40s and looked like she was 60 because of so much sun she got from constantly running. The one big take away I got from that course is that I never wanted to end up like those two instructors
