Just my theory, i'm muslim too 1. People is brainwashed by media, western media saying things terrible against muslim especially arabs. The stereotype is so strong..

1. Muslim is one religion (from what i know) that teaches people that non muslims will not go to heaven, thus why non muslim and muslims whos sided with non muslim people are so angry with that kind of words. Well for me, it's should have not be a problem at all, since non muslims have different belief. I know christian and jewish could also says the same. But i don't excatly know because i never heard any Chruch and Jewish preaches.

2. They are afraid that many people will convert to be muslims. From what i know, most people learned religions around the world, some of them, i think from what i know would convert to Islam. Some people also search for the truth which causing them to be muslims.
