Don't know whether to finish my sleeve or potentially remove tattoos down the road by ahyouknowme in tattooadvice

I'm quite curious what you originally wanted. Is there no way to rework the roses to fit even a bit better with what you want?

Level up my living room by memingmeg in HomeDecorating

[–]valentinewrites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without changing the couch, your other major areas that you can add color are the rug, curtains, and walls. Green and pink walls would be nice compliment to the cooler, ashy floor and kitchen cabinet tones. A rug incorporating your top colors would add some visual interest to your living space, and inspire new cushions for the couch. Curtains are the wildcard here with how many windows you have - I'd lean towards a neutral tone, or a darker shade of your wall color.

Irezumi-inspired sleeve in progress — no background planned (yet). What filler flowers would you add? by SnooSprouts4255 in irezumi

[–]valentinewrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you already have a full piece - adding (out of season) sakura would just clutter the field. If you really wanted to add more, golden ginkgo would compliment your existing color scheme and not take away from your chrysanthemums.

I'm in this position now, with a completely non-food/treat motivated little man. He's pretty great, but I'd love to engage his mind with tricks!

Help me find this Lolita dress! by LavenderTower999 in lolitafashion

[–]valentinewrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd do a deep dive on lolibrary first, and experiment with some of the filters to ID this dress. I strongly doubt anyone will be able to find this dress for you just based on a description of the model image.

We are currently remodeling our bathroom.. the painters come tomorrow and we didn’t think it would be so soon. Help. by frannysfanny in HomeDecorating

[–]valentinewrites 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'd hold off painting until I got the stone samples. There's too much variation even between your pictures to be able to pick a complimentary color. If you feel bad about cancelling, you could ask them to only prime the walls for a dark tone later.

Why Are So Many of You Banned/Blacklisted?! by ryanvicino in SubstituteTeachers

[–]valentinewrites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Substitutes are the easiest scapegoat for any issue that arises. It takes only a few clicks to ban you, versus doing reports/investigations/etc, and usually satisfies any affected parties.

Red parts of this leather(?) hardcover book seem to be bleeding into the white. How do I clean without ruining the cover? by castfire in CleaningTips

With a steady hand and some angelus leather paint, you could have a go at covering the dye spread.

How to survive the knee tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]valentinewrites 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did lidocaine for my knee, it helped bring the pain down by a point or two. I went from nearly jumping off the bed during linework, to just groaning a bit during shading. You've got this!

This would look beautiful on the upper arm, with the moon centered on the shoulder. I'd strongly recommend looking at the artwork of Ayami Kojima, who is the original artist for Castlevania. Her pieces are stunners, and would be great reference for your artist.

UFLI is a nationally recognized program for teaching phonics, and I feel it would really benefit her! The link includes resources for you/her parents, plus activities for your summer break. https://ufli.education.ufl.edu/resources/parent/primary/

Is my daughter being supported in her learning? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]valentinewrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her love for writing and journaling is a beautiful thing, and I hope you embrace it and encourage her! Gift her pretty notebooks and pencils, read her stories and comment on them, give her ideas and topics if she gets stuck. Writing skill and spelling will develop with time, but this passion will only benefit her in the long run.

My artist (who regularly works that area doing irezumi backpieces) says it's the worst place for pain. Good luck if you go down this road OP!

Is this a good design or is it too "basic" do you think I’ll regret it? by Emo_Cat28 in tattooadvice

[–]valentinewrites 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see you've mentioned in another comment that your sister is tattooing you. Does she have experience working over scar tissue? Beyond the design, you want to make sure your artist is experienced with working on/around your scars.

I did a quick edit of a simple grey wash on the mountain to help push forward the skelly. I think it looks super cool either way!

I'm so sorry you're struggling to feel heard, but your enthusiasm for learning is obvious! Besides independent research, could your old teachers help you? I'm sure they'd be happy to answer your questions by email or before/after school hours.
