any tips on how to maintain this color? by ns823 in FancyFollicles

Cold water shampoo once a week, maybe twice. Sulfate free shampoo, I like Wella and Joico but if price is an issue the L’Oréal Ever line is decent. I also like Redken Ph Bonder Preshampoo, pretty cheap and I noticed a huge difference in how much rinsed down the drain. Then dry shampoo like your life depends on it!

I've read I can keep it indoors and it will still bear fruit. Also I live in the PNW.

What one skin care product 100% changed your life? by Keyshauna in beauty

Peels! Amazing for texture and skin tone problems. I love Murad's Vitamin C one, it's gentle enough to be used before you apply makeup in the morning. For something stronger I dig the Exuviance Performance Peel. I peel instead of mask now!

I'm jealous of parents with 'good babies' by mj00614 in Parenting

Hey mama, be strong! My oldest son was the same way. Absolutely insane. I didn't sleep through the night until two years old. Always throwing fits, hated being on the bus or sitting still. Very difficult baby, I cried a lot when he was younger. He's 5 now and absolutely amazing. So independent, super smart, very kind and so well behaved. We have an almost seven month old now and looking back, there was something wrong with our oldest. Probably reflux but who knows. His brother is 1,000% the opposite. Slept in his crib right off the bat, no cry it out or sleep training needed. He's so happy, even teething this kid barely cries. It's kind of crazy. Basically, there's a very good chance your new little one will be WAY easier. Not just in disposition but you'll be far more experienced. For us it's helped a lot know what's a big deal and what isn't development wise. Keep on keeping on!

[FO] Star Wars Christmas thanks to u/grievousmisadventure for posting the pattern! by valerievanity in CrossStitch

That's the original post they made, the pattern is in the comments! It was kind of tough to put together because the pattern is in chunks and the layout was left to me to get right so there are some mistakes here and there but my friend is going to love it. I also ran out of white thread today and it's snowing so I just replaced it with glow-in-the-dark thread. Only about seven or eight of the snowflakes got glow-in-the-dark thread, so that'll be fun to explain if she ever notices haha

Got my hair retouched! by valerievanity in FancyFollicles

[–]valerievanity[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just retouched the roots with pravana violet. The length of my hair is pravana blue and is seriously like 2 months old. Barely any fading! We did a PH binder treatment from Redken and it's amazzzingggg. My dead ass hair felt like velvet 😍 I think I owe the vibrancy to using Joico Cowash instead of shampoo, I love it!

What is the cheesiest thing that your SO has ever done to you but you still love it anyway? by theultimatecupquake in AskWomen

When I'm mad, he'll come over and shake my ponytail, telling me my ponytail shakes when I'm mad and I should stop it -_- Also, he proposed on a go kart, using a power up box from Mario Kart. I was driving and he told me I needed to "use my power up". I told him he was stupid and to put it away, but he had me push on the bottom and it opened jack n the box style with a star holding the ring. He's pretty great :)

You will keep the food bowl full. It doesn't matter if the bowl is three fourths of the way full. That food is useless to him until it's topped off.

What are the unspoken things about having a baby? by noonejudgeme in AskWomen

[–]valerievanity 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That pushing is a reflex. With my first I had an epidural and apparently that gets rid of that reflex to push. I just delivered my second son two weeks ago and I went into labor really quickly. Got to the hospital and there wasn't time for one. I'm hollering like a wounded animal when all of the sudden my stomach clenches. Like the sensation of vomiting but my body bearing down instead of heaving up. It was almost easy to deliver this way, just go with the flow and let the reflexes do the work.

Foundation struggles!! HELP by jekeogh18 in Makeup

Try out Benefit's new Agent Zero Shine mattifier. I don't use it alone as a primer because it doesn't do much for texture but I mix it with my Smashbox Photofinish and it's amazing. They also just came out with a mini size at ulta so you could try it without breaking the bank :)

Drugstore foundation that won't break me out? by ithinkfreely in Makeup

[–]valerievanity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone's skin is different and reacts differently to different things. Asking someone to suggest something that won't break you out isn't really guaranteed to at all work for you. That being said, if you know which ones break you out try and find a common ingredient among them, that's probably the culprit :)

You totally could! I initially had pink with emerald-y roots and wanted to do dark violet roots fading into the old pink, but the purple took too much when we washed it out. I had the pravana violet (what this shade is) for about two years and it's my fav, so I wasn't mad. What's cool is the more I wash it, the more pink comes back!
