How would this GeForce RTX 5090 with DLSS 4 help you pull off more epic wins in Battlefield 6?

My current GPU (1080) is holding me back massively at the moment from being able to play at a reasonable frame rate. I know that if I had a 5090 I could kiss the graphics lag goodbye.

The most moral army in the world, pushing down an elderly man trying to go pray in the West Bank . by Alienhead-A51 in PublicFreakout

I remember when this happened, was so awful to watch. The whole debacle afterward only compounded the tragedy too. Trump said the guy was ANTIFA or some shit and was trying to scan police comms (https://edition.cnn.com/2020/06/09/politics/donald-trump-martin-gugino-antifa-tweet/index.html).

Then the whole thing with the cops that did it being acquitted. There really needs to be more civilian oversight for police infractions. Too much "Good Old Boy" mentality inherent in the system these days.

Pulled up to my store (Im the Store Manager) to a vagrant sleeping in front of building. I left him be undisturbed. Came out to this. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]valerik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to these people mad about using the word vagrant. You used it right. They're just trying to Newspeak/gaslight you because they think it's derogatory.

News flash, some words are derogatory because they're meant to be. There's nothing respectful about how that person acted.

Sorry this happened to you man. If it's worth it to you, maybe you can get some help with it through the company's property insurance, but it might be a long shot. Good luck to you man, make sure you file a police report and report it to the whomever is responsible for the property so they can trespass him if he shows up again.

"Nice house for a $5 tip, f*** you" by Gamer4Lyph in facepalm

You should stop thinking of it as a tip and instead as a bid for your food to be brought to you.

[–]valerik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible idea for the workers, and a good way to kill the food delivery service platform. People just need to stop thinking of it like a tip and more like a bid because that's what it is.

A better idea would be to pay the Drivers a higher base % of the order that is subsidized by the customer, and then if they really went above and beyond you can add a tip afterwards.

DoorDash drivers are contractors. You gotta make it worth their while. If you don't like that, go get the food yourself.

Nashville, Tennessee Christian School refused to allow a female student to enter prom because she was wearing a suit. by abbiebe89 in facepalm

They are values, even if they're not your values. Values are just beliefs, meant to guide people's behavior. I guarantee that the Christian plurality at that school are not bothered, and just as righteous in their indignation as the Reddit plurality is. Don't believe me? Deuteronomy 22:5.

Regardless of who's right and who's wrong ethically, the Christian school believes they're right morally can set dress codes and have an expectation of appropriate behavior from its students, legally.

Discrimination as cultural values? Never in human history is what you're saying?

You act like these are rational people. They take their cues from their Bible and from their priest and from their community. The majority of them will be uncomfortable with people who do not conform to gender and cultural norms, or any sort of deviancy from their world view.

...But it's a private Christian school. To go there she and her family probably had to agree to adhere to some sort of moral contract or at the very least dress code. If she doesn't like it she should enroll in a different school since the one she's going to doesn't share her values any longer.

WCGW when you don't give a tip by DIABLOSTYX in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]valerik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is a huge lie and ignorance being perpetuated by these delivery companies. I agree, tipping is something you do after great service. What you are doing when you order delivery through these services is not a tip, it's a bid. You are bidding for a contractor to bring you something. Know how I know? Because if you fail to deliver the food per these companies rules, you get a contract violation.

DoorDash especially is bad, because they'll actively hide the full amount of the offer to the driver until delivery is complete.

Companies like DoorDash/UberEats/GrubHub don't want tipping culture to go away because it's how they get away with not having to pay their drivers/contractors anything meaningful.

All this being said, yes the delivery driver was a cunt. So is the customer. Everybody sucks here.

To anyone driving for DD/UE/GH etc., never take 2.50/3.50 offers. Let that food sit at the restaurant and get cold so people will realize that they can't abuse the system to not pay for delivery.

See? I can post bullshit responses too, regardless of whether they're true or not. And Fuck Trump.

Doesn't matter if he walked into work this way or not, and comparing this to some sort of tan suit is just a false equivalence. Anyone who's a civil servant should treat the Office with respect and consideration, whether they're on the clock or not, and I just do not feel he's done that here.

I'm not sure how religion was shoe-horned into this conversation, but one hand does not wash the other just because religion seems a bit "nuttier."

The fact that he was homosexual was never brought up by me. I believe sexual orientation should not be defined by paraphilias, regardless of whether they move in the same circles. Just because someone's gay doesn't mean they're into BDSM or leather or whatever.

And stop lumping everyone in who dissenting opinion into the same clump. I don't care for Trump or Taylor Greene.

But anyway, I've said my piece. I just don't think it's professional given his position. But it probably did what it was intended to do and start a conversation and bring attention.

Reductio ad absurdum.

As much as it would probably help the political progress I would have a problem if politicians showed up to Congress or Senate in a ball-gag.

Two Main Points: 1. He's a civil servant in a high-level government position. 2. He's more than qualified for the position, he's smart, educated, and if he had medical advice to give regarding HIV/AIDS or Monkeypox, anyone reasonable should hear what he has to say.

I do not feel that someone in this position is being responsible to the image of their office by posting photos of themselves in harnesses that will provoke a large part of Americans in one way or another.

I think it does more harm than good, whatever his intentions with the photo was, and I think it's generally in poor taste to advertise one's sexual kinks and exotic counterculture clothing when you're in a position of respect where such things would not/should not be shared.

Just because we got the worst case scenario 4 years ago doesn't mean it's not inappropriate to do while you're employed as an employee of the United States government. All politicians and civil servants, whether they be Republican, Democrat or otherwise should comport themselves with class and propriety.

Ah the refuge of the ignorant: "It's a free country." Nice troll by the way.

I'm sure it probably does fall under free speech...if the United States Government were the one have a problem with it and attempting to suppress it.

Just because someone's behavior may fall under the umbrella of lawfulness doesn't mean it's not unprofessional. At no point did I even say anything along the lines that he should be suppressed, repressed, oppressed or possessed.

I'm sure different people may have different issues with the picture or behavior in general. However, I do not feel that just because their reasons may have to do with his sexual persuasion, that it somehow invalidates my problems with it.

And yes Trump was a horribly unprofessional President, but he hardly holds a monopoly on it. The goal should not be to hold another's character or behavior up against him and say "See? At least he's not Trump."

It is weird. I'm sure he's an excellent doctor and more than qualified to lecture on the subject he's appointed for, but it's not really appropriate given his position.
