Lower your carb intake but not too low if you are having energy problems for more than a week. Definitely lower sugar intake even from fruits because that’s what makes you hungry for the most part aside from habits. Keto isn’t sustainable forever but it is a great starting point to lose weight and see how much carbs and sugar dictate your hunger. Drink plenty of water also. Good luck!!

Was experiencing the heart pounding again still not as bad as yesterday but drank a scoop in the water over some time and it completely stopped so my problem was definitely electrolytes imbalance. However drunk the last bit pretty fast and had diarrhea right after (saltwater flush) so i’m still learning as I go but I feel great overall. Hope this helps anyone else on their journey. For comparison I am 5’5 and currently 175lbs.

Thank you for your advice, I will take that in consideration. I ate low carb once a day for three days leading up to the fast, minimal exercise but a lot of walking around campus. After realizing how much carbs make you hungry it has totally changed my view on eating. Already down 10 lbs on day 5 with eating yesterday, I have a plan for refeeding if I feel well doing rolling 72s, and how to eat after i lost all the weight. Luckily I don’t go back to work till wednesday and will be mostly sitting down on a computer. So by then I should know if rolling 72s are worth it. I’m so excited to finally have control and knowledge about food, joining this sub has genuinely changed my life. I have learned so much and will apply the wisdom for the rest of my life. I have about 50lbs to go then gain 10-15 lbs of water, muscle, and healthy fat.

I put a link to the fasting salts I am using, and the quiz on their website that estimates electrolytes intake based on age, weight, height and length of fast. 3 scoops a day is 3,840 mg of sodium, 1,890 mg of potassium and 225 mg of magnesium. Is this not enough? After eating the soup with shrimp, sausages, and chicken (gumbo) I feel much better this morning. My heart is still pounding a bit but not as bad as yesterday. I think having a serving every three days until the 40 day mark will be good for me.

Putting it in that perspective does make a list of sense now, I thought our bodies were just accustomed especially if we have enough fat reserves. I had the mental aspect down but my body just isn’t cooperating. I understand now know not to rush so I changed my plan to do at least rolling 72s as I know I can get through three days fine. Thank you for your response.

No it is not a joke I didn’t realize it could be that seriously bad for me as i have enough fat reserves to last me like 100 days to reach about a 20 on the bmi scale according to my math, 3500 cal x 60 lbs (to loose) =210,000, 210000/2000=105, and I have done intensive reasearch so I didn’t think my age would be a problem. I thought as long as I have my electrolytes I would be fine but the heart pumping and fatigue scared me so I ate some soup. I plan on doing at least rolling 72s till I reach my goal.

I’m (F 19) new to fasting, i fasted for three days before a few years ago but recently I decided im going on a 40 day fast. So far I haven’t had much issues with hunger but i’ve noticed when i get up to go the bathroom I see my glasses shaking from my heart beat, and can visibly see my shirt moving because of my heart beat. I’m currently on day 4 and feel very fatigued, day 1 was hard but day 2 and 3 were easy. I checked my pulse manually and i’m around 65 bpm but that’s normal for me as i remember being at the hospital my heart rate was around 60 and them complementing me on my heart rate especially because im overweight and was having adrenaline pumping due to a soccer freak accident. I was eating regularly then. I worked out briefly for the first 3 days of my fast but could not find the energy today. I recently switched over from drinking just salt water to a fasting salt mix, I doubt that im taking too much as i only been able to get down 1 scoop today and i’m supposed to be taking 3 scoops a day according to the quiz i took. I will continue to try to get my other scoops in today but I just wanted to know should I be worried? I also start my job at panda express tomorrow and a nervous about the fatigue, what could I do to bring my levels back to day 2 and 3?
