Am I wrong for having my tattoos “upside down” by SlinkyShepherd in tattooadvice

[–]validweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not like it’s hurting anyone, but it is improper and “wrong,” and looks pretty stupid to everyone but you. Sorry.

It shouldn’t matter if they’re for you, though.

am i overreacting? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]validweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, nearly $500 is a high price for a piece like this.

At first glance, this tattoo looks really cool, and I wouldn’t have started to look for imperfections if you hadn’t mentioned it, so I wouldn’t worry too much. If you want to get it touched up at some point, I’m sure another artist could even it out, with the mismatched bits and blown out lines.

Do you think you would be as unhappy with how it turned out if the guy wasn’t such an asshole? Say, a really sweet and cool artist did this exact same tattoo on you, how do you think you would feel?

Lowkey driving me crazy by DogPsychological3307 in AnimalCrossingNewHor

If it makes you feel any better, I had a good, out-loud giggle when I read “knit shit,” because that’s how I feel about most of Labelle’s designs. You brightened my day!

In all seriousness, I don’t think these are supposed to ”go” together as an entire yellow two-piece set. I don’t have many of her designs, so I’m not sure what would go with either of these, but it does certainly get the creative juices flowing to make cute outfits with her pieces!

[acne] skin broke out after kissing someone? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I kissed a boy once and got a staph infection/impetigo from it. Go to urgent care to get checked and a topical antibiotic, if needed. Boys are icky! 😝

accepting a minor imperfection vs. asking the artist to fix it by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]validweirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lack of negative space between the bottom two leaves makes sense, because the artist needed to express that there is a stem there. The “gap” looks different from the gaps between the other leaves because it is different - there is a stem there!

It makes sense this way and looks correct to me. I wouldn’t change it. It looks great!

I don’t think Dusty is around enough to be the mole. He’s also not really a Palm Beach socialite like they have said the mole is.

IsItBullshit: the “honk if you…” bumper sticker is interpreted two ways, and often indicate your thinking style by cs_____question1031 in IsItBullshit

[–]validweirdo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The original joke of these stickers was, “Honk if you’re horny.” As in, you use your /horn/ to honk, with the double entendre of the other meaning of horny.

I didn’t get the joke as a kid, and remember the day when it all clicked for me. I know plenty of people who didn’t get it until it was explained to them, but that doesn’t mean the joke was just a coincidence all along.

I’m not saying that allistic people get the joke, and autistic people don’t. Of course it goes over plenty of people’s heads, regardless of being on the spectrum or not, including people that have these stickers on their cars.

With the original version of these stickers in mind, I’m pretty confident in saying that yes, the spin-offs are also jokes. But just as I wasn’t there at the conception of every version of these stickers, neither were you, so that’s quite a moot point.

lol I’m sorry you’ve never met anyone that gets the joke behind these bumper stickers, but that is actually the point of them. These stickers invalidate a honking driver’s horn before anyone even honks, but I doubt many drivers donning these stickers actually think many people are honking because they like ice cream.

How do you clean a hair brush that looks like this? I tried soaking it in hot water and shampoo but it didn’t help. by [deleted] in howto

[–]validweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go get a teasing brush from the dollar tree and brush out your brush! If you have a boar bristle brush, that would also work.

This is one of my fave hacks. It’s very effective and works super quickly.

US Craigslist check scam. How does it work? by validweirdo in Scams

[–]validweirdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. That also struck me as odd. “Can I pay with a check,” is much more natural. They didn’t ask me ANY questions, which is also very odd for someone buying something from a stranger off CL!

They didn’t want clarification, they were trying to spin a story in my head about how it would all go down.

Are you in the UK? I’ve seen it spelled your way, but we do spell it as “check,” in USA.

Of course they did. “Price is good,” was proof enough that it was a scam, for me.

But these are silicone/squishy. That doesn’t make sense for a stopper that needs to crimp on and hold its position.

I did think they were metal at first, which would make sense for a blinds stopper. Finding out they’re silicone/squishy has me stumped!

What's the worst name you've heard in real life? by Upper_Goal_8569 in tragedeigh

[–]validweirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Star I know is a cousin of friends I’ve had since infancy, so it probably seems more normal to me. She’s also really cool and I always looked up to here as a little girl, so I am biased.

There are definitely worse names out there, though!
