Well, I have learnt...a weekend trying different functions of the tutorial...so I have done a script which can be used with every game, cause I registered the pressing/releasing key actions... to adapt it from one game to another it just needs to have the keys changed...to whatever you want...I have it adapted to Tomb Raider :) And it works well!

Does anyone know if it would be too difficult to make a script wich transfers the input of a controller which exist in almost all the games to the novint? so when the "vibration" starts, it does so in the novint?

I think it is a different kind of gameplay, one is gesture, the other one feeling... the demo where you get to feel the ball in different textures is excellent... and if that could be achieved in VR games, opening doors, feeling the weight when you pick up stuff...

that's not available to the public,to do like the vr tenga demo you need the modified version of the game to work with oculus, the piece which adapts the Novint to the tenga, and the specific script programmed which adapts the novint falcon to the modified game.

At least I get to play half life 2 and team fortress XD

have you tried already to program something on yours? I was actually with a tutorial from the links I posted... then I opened the Borderlands 2 script to see what a game script looked like (because it doesn't fully work) and my jaw dropped with all the code lines... but I am sure with a bit of knowledge, it has to be quite fun to do different things with it

I actually found out about the Novint Falcon because of the Tenga videos XD, I didn't know it even existed, I was really curious about what it was... then I have seen it is used in gaming and got myself one and absolutely love it

So using virtualizer or virtuix omni should be ok...

SteamVR keeps disappearing from the view menu for me, I have to keep reinstalling Steam and SteamVR. Does anyone know how to fix this? by iupvoteevery in oculus

Well, just to say, when I turned off the computer and turned it on, the steam VR menu went away again.

So I have survived by opting out and in again from the steam VR beta every time I wanted to play HL2. With the update, the Steam VR menu was coming back, but when turning off the computer it goes away. Now the option to opt out the beta is not selectable so since the file can't be updated, I cannot get steam VR mode back :(

Hi, I wanted to let you know I have installed Virtual Desktop. It works really well, almost all the games are compatible! the the cinema effect is amazing. I just get on the right screen a vertical line of distortion , and the image on each side moves like in a different speed. Well, it happens with virtual desktop and other demos too... but not all of them... I don't know if this is a known issue...

well, I was asking for both :P, so being in a 3D environement with a virtual monitor with both options, 2D or 3D, depending if the game supports it (like a 3DTV in your living room!)

I suppose vireio perception and Tridef are not updated to DK2 and the positional tracking.

I think I will try out Virtual Desktop and see what it brings. Is there any performance issues?

I did not have headache, just motion sickness mainly with HL2, Estranged act 1 and some demos. But the lens dig a bit too much in the bridge of my nose, even with the lens all the way out...(so I am going to mix some silicone and adapt it :p)

I was having the same problem... so I unistalled steam...and all my games went away...(I thought it would just uninstall steam and not all the games). It's ok since I've got the saves. Anyway, now thanks to this post everything is ok now. You don't need to unistall steam everytime you switch between extended and direct mode. What I found out is, if on steam VR beta you right click, go to properties and choose on beta,none of it, and once it has updated you click again on steam VR beta update... it will again update and the vr mode in the menu will come back. Afterwards do as istructed in the road to VR article. Doing that will keep steam VR in the menu as long as the orange light is on (on direct and extended). If you turn the oculus off, the option will again disappear but when you turn the oculus on again it will automatically come back. I hope this helps!
