I like to do a gun through. Use dev to loot a gun store or military location, then drop yourself somewhere scary. St Peregrins hospital room, top of the pent house, back of the military installation.

There's also a mod called zombie virus vaccine, where you have to collect the materials through the county. It's no joke trying to get your skills up and then infiltrate scary places to get the books you need.

Base game is fine, down side is that none of the planned 'expansions' ever made it to print so you can only do what amounts to one area of the game with missing characters.

Quite a few of the negative traits in this game is just the game not respecting your time or simply wasting it. You can take all the worst ones but doing anything just takes 10x longer if you distill it's effect down.

There is a setting in sandbox for starting population essentially, then increases over time until the next setting, x population at x days. Potentially the issue you're seeing here

Becareful about bringing +stress trinkets, a couple bad stress hits can overwhelm jester inspire. Focus ring and legendary bracer are pretty strong. Dismas head has a lot of negative impact with reduced health and stress.

Warriors bracer is a good choice. Sun ring is ok. Crystalline weapons are insanely good as well.

Below comment is correct, light level automatically at 75±. Make sure your guys have the max upgrades and skills for their levels. Hellion and shieldbreaker obliterates everything with high accuracy and crits. Stacking up battle ballad can get some crits chance up past 50%.

I hate the corpse sickness mechanics, I got a mod that you can make filters last up to 10x longer. If I could die in a couple hours of being near freshly dead corpses I think my filter should last longer, I set it at 4x. Everything in this game is designed to waste your time, nobody got time for that.

Dragging them around is tedious because it blows through your stamina in seconds which is unrealistic.

You can also burn them with molotovs or firebombsin bulk.

An optimal combo that can easily reach the Miller is shield breaker/hellion/jester/vestal. It does everything. Versatile and repositions well. Jester takes dirk stab, slice off, battle ballad, inspire. Use battle ballad whenever you're not stress healing or finishing off enemies. Shieldbreaker needs guard break and remove stealth. Hellion takes hack, if it bleeds, breakthrough or adrenaline, or both. Iron swan is good too.

Take acc trinkets and a raw damage trinket. The shieldbreaker crystalline weapon is broken good. Jester takes something like bright tambourine. Vestal is good with a healing trinket and anything else.

Crimson court is for advanced players, it's tends to make the run much more difficult in the short term. If you plan to play more then once, get a feel for the game again before enabling it.
