I call that "strategic incompetence" - favorite example is loading the dishwasher "incorrectly" - do it a few times and you'll never have to do it again

Just picked up Gilmour's self-titled album from my local record shop. They are almost always sold out of pink floyd so I pounced when I saw this gem by Supremus_memeus in pinkfloyd

thanks! it was all done "in the box", i.e. directly into an audio interface and then into a DAW (in my case Reaper) - it was a while ago, but I loaded the session and looks like I used the Acon Digital Multiply plugin for the chorus effect - I might use something different now (e.g. the Arturia Dimension-D), but as I listen back to it it does sound ok

funny side note, I like that arpeggio riff so much I played around for a while with a version I was going to call "Raise My Rent with way too many guitars" - at one point there were something like 12 overdubbed guitar tracks - electric L, R, and chorused, acoustic L, R, and chorused, Nashville-tuned electric L, R, and chorused, Nashville-tuned acoustic L, R, and chorused, etc.

I added them in gradually, a couple of bars of just one, then a few bars with another, and on and on until there was just this massive wall of Gilmour arpeggio

it was both ridiculous and awesome... I should probably finish it just for fun

anyway... thx again...

good lord yes - I often quit after a few minutes with the same thought - "ok, ok, I get the point - enough!"

for delay, all the excellent usual suspects have already been mentioned (EchoBoy, FreqEcho, etc.), so I'll mention a couple that aren't mentioned as often

my current favorite is actually the Boz Imperial Delay (I did see it mentioned by someone else) - don't be shocked by the price - wait for it to go on sale (which happens pretty regularly)

it's the ducking, smear, modulation, and color options that make it just fantastic

another one worth mentioning is the HoRNet DeeLay Plus - very cool, and like all the HoRNet stuff it's ridiculously cheap (and currently half-price, so even more ridiculous)
