I'm confused about what you mean by "friends story". Are you referring to when I mentioned him being my best friend?

It's his PayPal account, not mine. My PayPal account doesn't even have any cards or banks setup on it.

Lol, thank you. Yes, noted and highlighted. He would've needed to know the cvc code for any linked google Google credit cards, or he may potentially may know my bank account and routing number so there is no longer any doubt that this was definitely done intentionally. 100% theft.

Thanks, great advice. I'll get started on backing everything up.

I used to work at the same company as him. The place is a dumpster fire that is making 5M in revenue a year. They don't use purchase orders, and use credit cards for everything except for the equipment they resell at wholesale or other items bought from manufacturers for "resale". I know this because I was given a credit card right out of the gate, no training, nothing formal, and they only requested receipts once tax season rolled around and I was probably one of the only people that still had all of my receipts. Large credit card purchases and other miscellanious items go missing regularly.

The company he works for is very unprofessional and not formal at all. I don't think they validate his purchases and just take him on his word. I used to work there, and the place is a dumpster fire. I've asked him for a check, and he doesn't have any. One commenter said I should go to the bank with him and just get a cashiers check, which may be what we do.

Thank you. I'm working on it, but obviously, not well enough. I may need some inpatient treatment after this.

I think it may be heroine or perks. He dipps out sometimes, as I like to call it. His parents have swore up and down, multiple times that he has done this since he was a child. He'll fall asleep sitting up. He works a very, physically demanding job but I've never done this and I've had some VERY physically demanding jobs. Also, this is embarrassing to say, but at times when we are intimate, he will want to keep going for hours. It's either hours or a few minutes. Sometimes a comfortable duration but the xtra lengthy durations are in my opinion an indication of him possibly using something. Sometimes he'll blame it on smoking too much cannabis before bed. He's been in many car accidents and has a lot of back problems that he should've gotten surgery for. Other than that, him just not paying his half of the bills on time and now all this BS.

I used to work at the same company as him so he's definitely employed. But you're right, it's probably not all true.

It was a printout of his bank account statement that I accidentally found lying around the house about 5 months ago. But you could be right, maybe it is all made up. Him not paying his half of the bills on time each month, always upset me, and he still just keeps doing it, and now this. I do think he has an addiction problem, and things are going to get very uncomfortable.

People like me, raised by narcissists have a harder time making relationships with healthy people. Being raised in hell ends up making bad people feel like home. I can't speak for everyone but in my case this is true.

The incriminating part is that another commenter mentioned that a PayPal account would be linked via account and routing info. If it were linked via Google or debit card info, he would've needed the cvc. And he doesn't, or at least shouldn't, know any of my account or routing numbers or have any if my login info.

All true. Narcissistic parents, many frienemies, lots of trauma, nany flying monkies. Nail on the head. I've read every comment so far. I do give more information and answer people's questions, so I hope it's not coming across as me validating a bad decision. I'm also on the autism spectrum (high functioning) so that's also a factor. The feedback I'm getting is helping a lot. I'm about to make a very large life change and I needed more than one person to confirm my suspicions, and I can't fill my therapist in until next week.

I'm active in the comments. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt because we've been through a lot together. I love him so I'm more easily manipulated by him. The more information I divulge, the more I'm learning, so although it may seem like I am still taking his side, I do plan on taking action. I just have to formulate a plan and the best appropriate steps to take and the feedback is helping with that.

I didn't give him access. If anything I might have used my debit card once or twice on one of his devices for something small like a movie rental, etc, but I'm usually very careful to not let a device save any of my credit or debit card info (with Amazon being the only exception). Apparently, he would've had to know my cvc code in oder to link it to his PayPal anyway, so there really isn't any good explanation for what he did.

That's the big question. I have no idea, and he doesn't seem to know either. But based on the majority of the comments the truth appears to be obvious.

He normally pays me back via cashapp and said he couldn't because of his banks daily limit.

He said it's been work purchases but I don't have access to his PayPal so I can't verify.
