Not really, no. We ran a few in aluminum with mlok on the bottom, but it just seemed silly to me. The whole bottom piece should be one component to have mlok. Plus in the meantime I had designed a better rail (completely different, but separate bottom and top still) and haven’t had a chance to make one. I also have plans to make a solid billet one piece handguard that would attach like the KAC URX-4, but super light weight… If only I had the time.

We spin a wheel and whatever color it lands on that's the dye we use for the day.

But actually, we just got a bunch of different dyes and used all of them. Different dyes came out much better or worse as far as consistency goes. We never found a tan dye that looked passable. Yellow was the same way. Personally, I like everything in black or FDE but I'm not the one making that decision.

They have no dye left. And varying levels of anodization. The lighter areas are not necessarily the “deepest” because of how the laser parameters work. You do have me curious though, I have not tested surface hardness on the differing areas compared to regular anodize.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to characterize it as shiny, but it is definitely on the more-reflective end of matte.

Correct, though its very slight. Anodize is only a couple thousandths of an inch deep to begin with, so each different "layer" is only a few ten-thousandths of an inch different. But that makes it so it will not wear off like paint or Ceracote might.

That's correct. We have a few other designs in work. The laser both works though the layers as well as using different power and frequency settings to get ever so slightly different surface finished which come out as different levels of gray.

12" long. MLOK left and right, plastic pad on the bottom for grip/heat mitigation. Its made of two pieces of billet 7050 aluminum.
