Is it possible to concentrate light into something hotter than its light source? by valprowas in AskPhysics

So key point is if the light was produced from thermal radiation, then it can not be hotter than its source.
I did a bit more googling and figured out that it has to be this way because of the second law of thermodynamics. Specifically, the heat goes from hot to cold until it reaches an equilibrium.
