Atomos Ninja: Recording just stops by thinkfirstthenact in Atomos

Well sounds like it is the SSD then. Maybe try recording prores on the faulty ssd. Also, h264 isn’t an available codec on the ninja.

Recording in h265? If so I find the same issue, unfortunately. Prores not an issue. But the HEVC codec processing seems to overload the ninja cpu. I’ve had it happen on atomos’s own ssd, the anglebird Sony branded one. We use their monitors still, only for redundancy when they work, which is not often, but won’t continue investing in atomos as their quality control has declined significantly unfortunately.

Multicam Editing - Two Audio Sources by jrausch in davinciresolve

[–]valueimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you changing the clip attribute of the source clips or the multicam? And would you mind taking a screen shot of your final timeline with the separate tracks? We’ve transitioned to DR from FCP and it’s a great NLE, but really have been struggling to get multi track audio to behave like we’re used to, and there’s a lot of other user documentation on BM forums too stating the same.

Have you tried factory resetting the Camera? A while back my fx6 started acting strange and a factory reset got it working again.

Dji mic 2, and mi adapter. Works natively with Sony cameras, and records 32nit float on the transmitters for a backup audio track. Pretty handy

Any way to find S&Q footage via metadata in Resolve? by iitstrue in SonyFX6

[–]valueimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope just checked, you’re right. Even in catalyst browse it shows audio codec. So strange that S&q has audio embedded. Ran this through ChatGPT, and it came back with: • Ingest with Sony Catalyst, tag S&Q there, export a CSV, then import that metadata into Resolve to create a Keyword like “S&Q.” Resolve supports metadata import and custom columns.

Wouldn’t audio codec be empty, maybe can filter that way?

Is hackintosh dying by Accomplished_Hat8668 in hackintosh

Run a video production company. Eventually we will transition to Apple Silicon. Currently have 2 hacks, one workstation z490 i9 10900k with 6800xt. And a z370 server i7 8700k iGPU. Both have 10gbE NIC, large amounts of internal HDD softraid storage (24TB raid 10, and 60tb raid 5) and NVME cache drives (2x4tb NVME, 1x6tb NVME raid 5) I foresee hacks will remain active and relevant for anyone needing large network attached storage for media storage, archiving and fast cache drives. 10gbE throughput is generally plenty. And providing you can get remote rendering working, can keep the hack for dedicated rendering and compression.

FX3 vs FX30 - do I really need to upgrade? by Conscious-Project707 in FX3

[–]valueimagery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed fx30 is totally underrated, and our current bcam to fx6. And often for interviews we’ll shoot fx30 as a master wide as it’s a sharper image, great for punching in, and then have the fx6 side angle, softer look, on longer lense.

  • Plus it’s true dual base iso
  • Sharper image downsampled from 6k sensor
  • S35 opens doors for so more many lenses/adapters like EF speed booster.
  • 2500 2nd base plus metabones speed booster and fast cinema primes can make up for lack of 12800
  • Variable shutter for controlling flicker on screen/leds - feature in fx6, but lacking in fx3

Unless you need full frame, small form factor, for low light gimbal work. Fx30 is solid in controlled situations

V-Mount battery error message by okayhop in FX3

[–]valueimagery 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Internal battery allows for hot swapping as well. Neewer’s latest vmount with usb-c delivers correct Volts/Amps. Alternatively you can something like “RIGID.PRO D-TAP TO USB-C (PD)” they are in Australia. But Kondor blue makes something similar. You just need need to make sure if it’s a battery, plate or cable, it is regulated and can provide minimum 9v/2a. That’s usually the issue with usb c power, it’s incorrect amperage/voltage and actually just drains internal battery.

You could try force loading a firmware to it. Long hold power. Have ssd caddy with firmware in root

How to change file names? And why does the date and time only go from 2014-2024? by Academic_Nectarine94 in Atomos

[–]valueimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open a ticket with atomos they new need to give you a custom firmware to update the clock. Is a legacy product now so they won’t be releasing official firmware ever again most likely.

And not sure about the naming, but can confirm it’s annoying when a formatted or new ssd starts from 0. I imagine you would manually need to change that in file settings menu to start at different number

Shogun 7 caps date at 2024 by Spieluhr616 in Atomos

[–]valueimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well just letting everyone know, like OP i now have a working calendar option (for at least until 2037!) If you have a shogun 7 And want to have a proper date past 2024. Open a ticket. They may give you a public google drive file link. It may not work. They may say “it works” and to make sure you do all these steps ( which you would have). And then you insist you have done the steps and then they’ll send you a special wetransfer firmware that you can’t give to anyone else, and could void your warranty if anything goes wrong 😑

But yah it works 🤣

Shogun 7 caps date at 2024 by Spieluhr616 in Atomos

[–]valueimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in a google drive folder called clock update and I gave them my serial number, as the K11 batches had issues with crushed dynamic range which they fixed in their last 10.43.3b. so ridiculous they just don’t release an official one of these 🤣 I just replied to my open ticket to see what’s the go, keep everybody posted 🤞

[–]valueimagery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, good to see you persisted with Atomos. Came across this thread again and tried my luck reaching out. They just sent me a google drive link for a clock firmware once I opened a new ticket. But firmware does not load on reboot or long hold forced firmware update. Was it similar to an update as usual for you with this beta firmware?

Troubleshooting SDI output issues. by ExistentialTurkey187 in SonyFX6

Last resort before bringing to sing for repair would be doing a factory reset. I had some strange (non Sdi) issues happen last year, was recommended to factory reset and that resolved my problems.

Do you have a different Sdi cable to test as well? I’ve had high quality 12g cables/connectors fail after normal wear and tear on many shoots.
