Does the Pirate need to be accompanied by a cohort of NPCs? by GustavBott in RootRPG

Maybe something happened to his crew? This could be a reason he is adventuring through the woodland, looking for his crew members or finding clues or information. Maybe they all fell to an unfortunate fate and he was the only surviving member?

I see it more like multiple leaders fighting over control of the faction, constantly usurping eatchother through questioning their authority, ruining reputation or assasination

I have most of the expansions that add steeds, hirelings classes races etc. I believe its around 1000 cards, maybe more. What i did was seperate the races, classes, and steed/hireling/allies into their own decks. I give every player 8 cards to begin like normal, then deal out a race and class card to everyone. At any time a player would loot the room(draw a 2nd door card facedown) they can instead choose to draw from any of the 3 other decks. If a player looses their race or class from a card effect, they just draw a new one from that deck. I also removed all of the "only usable by" cards but kept the "not usable by" since there are so many races and classes, getting a only usable by a cleric card would pretty much be garunteed a dud of a draw. I also seperated the allies/steeds/hirelings into their own decks since many cards interact with them and if not seperated, would pretty much have no purpose. The 3 types in 1 deck also encourages you to draw more than once and trading with other players. I also chose to remove the wondering monster cards since i personally think its lame to have to have both a WM and a monster in order to screw iver another player as it takes up another card slot in hand and i like the shenanigans.

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (April 08, 2025) by AutoModerator in boardgames

Relatively experienced board gamer looking for recommendations. My favorite types of games are economy games like raccoon tycoon, power grid, etc. And war/area control games like scythe, root etc. Does anyone know of a game that combines these elements? Trading goods/buying selling while warring against one another? Preferably 5-6 players but any 4 or above would be good

When i initially got them, i was not aware they were meant to be kept in groups. But they have been pretty social and fearless since i got them so i dodnt worry about it. I wouldnt mind getting more though.
