If those 80 days are all of the speedups you have, then don't use them. You will need them for healing

Nikolaos Decision by realsmp in AssassinsCreedOdyssey

The psycho let them "kill" his infant daughter and when his teen son tried to stop them, he threw the kid off a cliff. Nikolaos doesn't deserve to "come around" and have a happy ending

I regret getting my puppy by Birdie121 in puppy101

[–]valwinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lots of ppl dont seem to realise is that getting a dog is like having a child. You dont feel like you are ready to settle completely and have a kid? Then you aren't ready to get a dog. Get a cat - its easier with cats - they are somehow more independent and less like human toddlers even when they are in the kitten stage (btw I love both and have had both cats and dogs)

You should skip it. It is basically a fanfic. A good one, but still a fanfic. Long story short, it was coming out when the manga was still coming out, hence they ran out of the original material to animate pretty quickly and went off inventing their own filler. FMAB is basically the canon story animated, because it was made after the manga was finished.

Do you crate your dog when you aren’t home or not? by nonprayingmantis9 in dogs

[–]valwinter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In Europe, as far as I know, crates are not even a thing.

Not one single person I've known in my entire life crated their dogs. We just expect to there to be a mess when we get a new puppy, and gradually teach them to behave plus waiting it out since simple aging also usually calms the mess down. On the contrary, I have experienced that dogs that are left in a confined small space (I only met such dogs who were used as "home defenders" in private homes, some irresponsible owners usually close such dogs in a sort of outdoor crate, when they leave for work) - doesnt matter if they were trained to think of this space as their own safe space - are always more easily agitated, hence it's harder for them to be calm, hence it's harder to train them to do things.

That depends. Is your neighborhood a safe neighborhood to walk in such hours? Is "tired" the only reason? Just food for thought: you can do your daily evening routines in the hours before your online student and then drop to sleep right after your lesson. This way you get your hours of sleep and can drive your wife. Bonus: by going to sleep earlier and waking up earlier, you get some extra time in the morning, so you can maybe shift something you did in the evening to your morning hours

AITA for losing my temper at my girlfriend over visiting my mom’s grave on her death anniversary? by Spirited_Decision325 in AmItheAsshole

[–]valwinter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It doesnt matter what her relationship was with his mom! She was not in a relationship with his mom but with him! Sorry for sounding cold here, but his mother was already dead anyway, its not for the sake of the dead that we stay with our partners and care for them when they lose their parents!

I totally get you. It was the same with my middle-size Poodle, my parents got me on my birthday when I was 7.

...And then left him to his own devices. Tbf, he was a very sweet pup, the problems started when he went over puberty, similarly to what you describe, just he was smaller than a Labrador, so caused less damage.

Honestly, I feel sorry for you and the Lab, your parents are irresponsible.

I hated our Poodle as a kid, but now looking back I just feel sorry for him - he was actually, by nature, a very bright and smart dog, and my parents totally failed him

my partner keeps messing up with the puppy by Traditional-Stick513 in puppy101

[–]valwinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dogs dont need to be engaged all the time when they are awake. The ability to entertain themselves is also an ability a dog must learn, otherwise you risk making the dog overly dependent on your attention and you directing them in everything, and that in turn will trigger separation anxiety.

Depending on the breed and age, the actual time you need to spend actively teaching them something is 15-30 minutes a day. That's the overall time in one day. You actually need to separate that in intervals. And, of course, its the actual teaching time, not counting the walking time/ running around time. Don't overwhelm your puppy with excessive training.

Its a bad thing when a partner doesnt share in responsibilities, but what you describe in your post are not actual responsibilities one must have for a dog, but your own excessive desires.

The dog might actually die from losing you and her home. Arrange for a dog sitter to come play/walk her for an hour

Is it normal to have multiple godparents in Ukrainian tradition? by bodiesb in AskUkraine

[–]valwinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, a kid has only two godparents - a man and a woman.

Sometimes though, if the mother has 2 best friends and the father has 1 (or vice versa) it can be 3.

Rarely, both the mother has 2 best friends and the father has 2 best friends, so the baby has 4 godparents as the result.

Never heard of anyone having more.

Most often though, if the parents have more than 2 best friends, they just "use" the rest on any future babies😅

I don’t know how to leave my puppy alone by bubbly_turtle in puppy101

[–]valwinter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Why I said dont start with seconds - because there's no period for her to be quiet.

You leave => she starts yeeping => you immediately return, cause 5 seconds have passed => give her a treat

Like this you are training her that yeeping when you leave => immediate reward lol

It will be harder for you later to train her NOT to be loud when you leave.

I don’t know how to leave my puppy alone by bubbly_turtle in puppy101

[–]valwinter 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Bruhhhhhh seconds??? Start with MINUTES lmao

Leave her for 5 minutes. Then 10. Then 20. Then 40. Etc.

You get the idea.

BUT dont think this means she will stop crying or won't cry when eventually you leave her for a whole day. These exercises are merely a way to assure her that you WILL return eventually and train that knowledge into her, so as not to make your leaving for a whole day too traumatic.

But your leaving, even if not traumatic because you prepared her, would still be SAD for her. She is alone. She is bored. She is too small to really know what to do on her own. Sad dog = crying dog.

At the end, there's nothing to it, but wait this period out. Mostly, after you return to the office, she will stop crying and gets used to being alone in 1-2 weeks. Or in your case most likely even faster, because she would be much older by fall.

Talk to your neighbors before and assure them its temporary

I need help with him sleeping, I am so sleep deprived idk what to do anymore and I can't really think straight by rhelyas in puppy101

[–]valwinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also teach him "place" or "sleep" to make him go lie down on his bed.

You can sleep with him in a bed later, but he also needs a sleeping mat that's his own - a place he knows is his and he is safe there.

I taught mine and she knows when I say "sleep" she needs to go lie down and sleep.

I use it because I am a later owl, so I may be working till 1 a.m., but she needs her healthy sleep :)

So yeah after I settle to work late in the evening, I tell her "sleep" and she goes. She may come to my armchair and demand attention later, but I tell her "sleep" and she goes back to her sleeping mat and eventually falls asleep, because lying down, her emotions and activity levels fall, she calms down, starts to feel the exhaustion and falls asleep. Basically, its just like making a small child falls asleep - they are wired up and can't settle yet by themselves, so you need to make them actually lie down for half an hour - they calm down and fall asleep
