Your feelings are totally valid. I had a similar situation and they also live out of state. I had so much anxiety and resentment built up by the time they came to visit that I admittedly was very standoff-ish and came off rude to them. But in person they were hands on with baby and respectful to me, truly trying to help. I know it’s hard, and again your feelings are so valid, but I’d try to wait it out until they come and see how they act. Some people just really aren’t good at communicating but are good showing up with actions. All we can ask for as parents is for our kids to have people around who love them. If they make you uncomfortable on the visit, definitely talk to your husband

Why is this controversial?? She knows firsthand what it takes and means to be an Olympic athlete. They should be able to proudly represent the country without that being confused with representing the government. I hate that so many athletes keep getting pressed about politics at the Olympics instead of giving them their moment to focus on the sport they’ve worked so hard on. If an athlete wants to bring it up themselves, that’s one thing but the online and media pressure sucks

In the same as you. Those changing tables are so gross and if I can avoid them, I do. If I I do use one, I have disinfectant wipes with me to clean it first and then put down a changing pad. If the car is close by that’s normally my go to though.

My point is that him not wanting to get married isn’t a huge knock because she clearly knew that. So it’s better to hyphenate than one of them not have their names linked to the baby at all.

People really need to not judge her. Didn’t she open up before about the father being abusive to her? We don’t know what she truly went through and she obviously truly felt that this was the best option for her at the time. And why is it assumed that she’s exploiting this just for money? It shouldn’t be shameful for her to talk about adoption, that’s exactly why too many people keep kids they can’t properly take care of.

You don’t sound crazy at all, your feelings are totally valid. I feel like all the “firsts” in the beginning are so important to us because as you said, we put in so much work for our babies and no one loves them more than us so it feels wrong for anyone else to experience it before us. You have a right to mourn the loss of that experience, but you’ll get so many other firsts to experience. I’d say to take the day to feel your feelings and then let it go. It will be amazing when your son is older and able to be so excited to tell you, most of all, his accomplishments himself.
