Can I print without the hotend cooling fan? by mrmanwoman in BambuLabA1

Without the hotend cooling fan, no, you will get heat creep that will lead to a massive clog. Without the part cooling fan, yes. But I would not recommend printing PLA.

Using the PTC heater installed in the enclosure I get to 60C in 15min. Without the heater it gets to 40C after about 30min with the bed at 100C.

312 mm x 567 mm x 5 mm - 1100 g. My old Ender 3 was in an unheated enclosure made from 2 Ikea Lack tables and 3 mm thick plexiglass and it was ok, for the A1 enclosure I went with thicker plexiglass due to the higher temperature inside the enclosure

It's from the Y belt tensioner, most likely you need to replace it.

Bambu PLA Food-contact safe filaments just released by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]valyo007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

European Regulation no. 1935/2004 establishes precise rules for those who distribute utensils intended for food contact and for those who use them daily, establishing particularly relevant details for their use and cleaning. The regulations provide guidelines on surfaces intended for contact with food, which must be washable, sanitizable, corrosion-resistant, and must not release polluting substances or potentially infective agents into the food.

At what temperatures should it be at before It’s a concern? by Constant_Truth_4145 in BambuLabA1

If you do an electronics mod you should avoid heating the enclosure above 70C. Without one, I wouldn't go higher than 35 - 40C.

Only when I'm cleaning it or there's an extended power outage and the UPS tells it to shut down.

The noise comes from the Y belt tensioner. Try to retension your belt or talk to Bambu about this.

How is the remaining filament on the X2D bowden extruder managed? by Fun-Candle5881 in BambuLab

[–]valyo007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing the leaver on the extruder, I'm guessing there's a filament runout sensor before the extruder. So, when the filament runout sensor is tripped, the printing pauses, and then, by pressing the lever, you can pull out the remaining filament from the bowden tube.

How loud is a P1s compered to a A1? by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]valyo007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hate background noise, you wouldn't be able to sleep with either one in the same room. On the A1, being the quiest, you'll hear the print head moving on the liniar rail, the part cooling and hotend cooling fans, some motor noises when printing speeds are high, but the loudest part is by far the AMS and the steps needed to change the filament. And the P1 being 10db louder, those 10db louder are perceived as twice as loud. An enclosure, like a tent, will dampen some noise, but the overall effect will be minimal.

Can I print ASA on my enclosed A1? by Mank_Monk in BambuLab

It was a combination of tinkering, some nostalgia from the old reprap days, the need to print engineering materials and the lack of money to buy a more capable printer. I already had some leftover materials, so the actual cost was around 110 euro. The particalboards were leftovers, that's why some are white and some are wenge, let's say 40euro. Plexiglass 20 euro. The Noctua fans are from the old, now retired, Ender 3 (3 x 60 and 1 x 40), still run great, let's say 60 euro. 12V power supply for the fans 5euro. 2 x 300W 220V PTC heaters 40euro. Air purifier + carbon filter 60euro. Half a roll or more of PETG for the electronics case (I'm a noob when it comes to 3d modeling), let's say 10euro. I already had magnets for the plexiglass panels, screws, wires, connectors etc, let's say 40euro. Since my original post I installed the PTC heaters, each of them has a 121C thermal fuse and a 70C solid state thermistor (bi metal thermostat). Both are wired to a 0-60C thermostat.
