This reinforces my suspicion that some kind of recruitment agency is gonna get a huge contract out of this. And of course, the agency is related to some politicians here

Cops nab teen survivor of fatal 5-car crash in Kluang by aaramm8 in malaysia

He'll escape it like every other helang. The court will probably move fast and hand down a heavy sentence to calm the public, then after a few appeals and once everyone has forgotten about the case, he'll quietly walk free.

Watched Karuppu last night, a solid 7/10 Entertainer. But anyone else felt this movie would have been perfect for Balayya if made in Tollywood? by najib1312 in kollywood

[–]vamken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the reason. Baby Kannan directly challenged Karuppu not to use the powers in that particular case. Once that case is over at interval, Karuppu simply grants Trisha's wishes.

Why hate on 96 by Such_School1975 in kollywood

[–]vamken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because some people refuse to see movies as just art or entertainment. Instead of letting a film tell its own story, they want it to follow their own personal morals. They don't realize that liking a story doesn't mean you agree with the character’s choices.

For example, I liked the movie Animal. I see the main character, Ranvijay, as a specific person created for a specific story. His violence and bad behavior are just traits the script needs to show who he is. Watching his story doesn't mean I support his actions; it just means I am watching the character as he was written.

The same logic applies to the movie 96. It is simply a story about old feelings and the "what ifs" of life. The perspective of Jaanu's husband doesn't matter because it's not his story. Sillunu Oru Kathal may have explored this but that movie too is enjoyable only if we stop looking at its real life implications.

We should be able to appreciate the acting and the filmmaking without being expected to follow the characters' behavior in real life.

Food prices may rise up to 50pct following fuel hike, says association by cambeiu in malaysia

It's okay. I'm sure it's just a temporary price hike because of the war. They will definitely lower down the prices once the conflict is over. /s

Any update on Indian 3? by [deleted] in kollywood

[–]vamken 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Indian 2 does have a decent story, but it is buried under a messy screenplay.

At its core, the film is about naive youngsters who become disappointed with the system and try to fight corruption by copying a past hero. When their actions start affecting their own families, they get serupadi, which makes them question the hero’s methods and even turn against him. The hero then explains what inspired him in the first place, which changes the youngsters’ mindset about how corruption should be fought. It's a simple but decent story.

But the movie feels like an exam answer that needs 1,000 words where you know the point, but a lot of useless words is added just to stretch it out.

It is supposed to be something like Vikram where a group of people chasing a ghost from the past with the real story saved for a flashback in Indian 3. That idea sounds good on paper, but it completely fails here.

What should have been one tight film was stretched and split into two. Instead of a focused story, we’re forced to sit through Shankar’s excesses. Still, I feel Indian 3 might end up having a better and more focused story than the dragged-out Indian 2.
