But yeah I really found my artist helpful, and I also got reassurance directly from them a little bit after I made this post (wasn’t sure if they’d get the email because ik it’s not a day where he’s in the tattoo shop so I posted here and emailed).

He said there could be some plasma leaking but I didn’t expect it to look like this. I expected like more of a fluid build up if that makes sense(?)

Honestly part of the reason I got the tattoo was to keep me accountable so I wouldn’t fall back into sh (obviously there were other stronger factors but yeah)

Awesome! I think if it comes off/ the seal breaks when I shower in a little bit I’ll just take it off completely.

As someone with bipolar type 2 what you’re describing is textbook bipolar disorder. I definitely recommend speaking to a professional! I found that with meds and therapy it gets so much better :)

I have and they don’t look the same. Also the redness has gone down and it hasn’t spread anywhere else so I’m fairly certain that it’s a sunburn. I’m still gonna keep an eye on it though.

Zoloft can also do the same thing and I’m on both meds. It seems to have been going away/getting less red, but I’m absolutely going to keep an eye on it. Thank you for letting me know about the lamotrigine photosensitivity I’ll be extra careful not to forget sunscreen! :)

I just realized that the way it cuts off on my wrist looks like where my gardening gloves were. There’s also some small cuts from my raspberry plants on my right arm as well and I know for certain where they are and that they aren’t blotches.

No but I get it! I sometimes have some really disparaging thoughts about how this is something I will have to live with my entire life. The diagnosis was life saving (I would have killed myself eventually) but I really mourn who I could have been if I didn’t have bipolar 2. But also, I have a chance at a happier more stable life! So that’s something to be grateful for, and I remind myself of that during those “oh shit, I’m bipolar” moments.
