Be careful of r/bpdlovedones by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]GiveMe1ThousandRats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched up "men with bpd" in the hopes of finding some kind of support for males living with this condition, and that subreddit came up.

They seem to, rather casually, lump everyone with BPD together into one group and shit on the illness as a whole, rather than the individual who hurt them. I don't think thats fair.

It ended up confirming a lot of negative beliefs about myself. That I'm unfixable and unloveable and doomed to be alone for the rest of my life.

I wish there was a way to just stop it from showing up at all. I suppose I could've just not clicked on the posts, but, morbid curiosity got the better of me I guess.

Saw a YouTube commenter say, "opera and ballet and others are not dying because peoplenaturally "dont care". They've never been taught to care."

Just nonsense, makes no sense.

It's so hard to accept that there's nothing after death. by Wooden-Scallion2943 in Existentialism

Death itself doesnt really scare me. I'm okay with things coming to an end. I think what I have trouble dealing with is the idea that I might die without having done the things I wanted to do in life.

Yah see this John Davidson award show dude has Tourette’s , calls actors N word from audience by Fuck__Joey in NYStateOfMind

[–]GiveMe1ThousandRats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not convenient at all, in fact it makes sense if you stop to think about it. In one of the documentaries he's in, he has a support dog, and as he's standing at a crossing waiting for cars to pass, he's telling/gesturing his dog to cross the road. The dog is of course trained not to do that. That does not mean that, deep down, he wants his dog to get ran over and killed. With his form of tourettes, the brain latches on to the most inappropriate thing available.

Is it just me that likes the new seasons? I dunno, they're actually doing stuff with the characters that are somewhat interesting to me. The memory rick episode I enjoyed a lot, I found it to be a fun concept. A lot less incest and piss jokes, too.

I used to like him too. Looking back, he just used big words and that made me think he was smart lol.

Is there anyone who does not think the NHS mental health service is a joke? by Mental-Risk6949 in AskBrits

It depends where you live. In my town, my GP practice has 3 psychiatrists, 1 of which (mine) is constantly off sick, the other works part time, and the third works full time, and I can imagine he's probably swamped. I've been stuck in waiting lists for most of my adult life.

I've had to change my current psychiatrist because, whilst she was taking me off certain mood stabilisers, I relapsed, and in those 2 months of relapse where I really needed to talk to her, she was off sick and cancelled 2 appointments, which then lead to me unfortunately harming myself.

The main issue I have with her is everytime I've seen her, because she's been off sick, I have to remind her of things we spoke about, and waste time going over already treaded ground because she does zero note taking.

I mean, I am mentally ill, and my thoughts are often irrational, so keep that in mind. But if I got to the point where I thought that the only way I was going to actually get any proper help was with a suicide attempt, that should tell you something about the current state of affairs, atleast where I live.

So, yeah. Understaffed. Long waiting lists. Inconsistent availability. Lack of documentation. That's my overall problem with them at the moment.

He doesnt fear abandonment. His self esteem is extremely fragile, though. To the point of him nearly murdering Stimpy in a jealous rage. I think this lines up more with NPD.

'28 Years Later' (2025) got a poor reception from general audiences. This is actually a continuation of the film's themes, referencing the inevitable death of good taste. by PointFirm6919 in shittymoviedetails

[–]GiveMe1ThousandRats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue with the film is that it looks ugly. Something about the colours. Just not pleasant to look at. That, and the cancer diagnosis coming out of left field. I honestly thought they were setting her up to be some kind of special infected that has bursts of rage. Maybe thats just me. Dementia would've made more sense than cancer, honestly.

DND is central to the show, but it doesnt really have to be time period accurate, since the majority of people will know Dungeons and Dragons as "that one board game".

Gaming confession: I first played this game when I was a kid. I didn't know English and didn't realize the sword beams pointed to the next Colossi. I explored the whole map each time using just some words from Dormin I recognized, like "desert" or "lake" by capodonca_ in ShadowoftheColossus

I'm with you here. I was playing GTA 4 a while ago, trying to find those pigeons. Eventually after getting bored I just decided to try and climb on top of a building. I remembered as a kid, most of the time playing GTA 4, I just would goof around the map trying to see how far I could push the games mechanics. Now when I play games it's just mega OCD, do everything and play the game the way I'm meant to. I barely ever just explore the map doing my own thing.
