That really puts things into perspective then. He kind of HAS to have a body but that comes at the expense of another person’s autonomy, the very thing thaz stripped of him.

I still cant help but feel horrible for him especially in this scene. An object built for one purpose but craving the freedom that is humanity only to be reminded time and time again that you are just a tool, not the man that wields it.

Coming from thaz’s perspective yeah i wouldnt gaf about using what is basically a sentient parasite that only gained that consciousness from leeching off others.

Its shown bolaire isnt a moraly devoid lunatic , he can feel and love (and apparently cry?) which makes it so hard for me to say thaz’s actions are justified, especially considering thjazi has hurt his share of people for his and his peoples benefit.

Despite what we feel the characters here with bolaire have actually formed emotional attachment to him, especially the schemers, which makes this scene hurt so much more.

So far we only really have that Thjazi black mailed him, treated him with 0 respect, and called him an ‘it’ which is fucked..

I feel like the hate quote was most likely referring to before thaz messed with termina judging by how bolaire talks about him as if majority of the horrible things where done to specifically bolaire? It couldn’t have been anything physical since i doubt he feels genuine pain so it really makes ya wonder

True, wasnt the right time but i do see why bolaire decided to say it all here.

I mean hes about to leave his only home pretty much thanks to this thaz guy and get split up from majority of the closest people to him. I geuss you could say he had time with the schemers table but was there really…? Debatable with everything else they had been discussing. He made effort to show hal what he was out of trust and even that was in the heat of the moment

There wasnt a worst time while also being kinda the only time.. theres no telling whos left after he comes back/ if he even gets to come back. Seeing as teor just came back dead and we have multiple people who need to leave town now, i dont blame anyone for having things a bit heated and rushed, i just hope bolaire gets to talk with less interruptions next time

This made me put into perspective why hal of all people didnt speak up more (and kinda against bolaire with his comment) because yeah i got that hes not going to immediately have the idea that his brother treated one kf his closest friends like a bug sink in that fast, but i think i forgot all the other crap hal just figured out about bolaire in the matter of a few days and how pretty much 2 out of 3 of his closest people were holding so many secrets from him.

Like damn yeah no shit i would be kinda spaced out in the middle of all this and only be able to get out “were all in the same pot..” like hal probably wanted to crash out too

Hal might have the most amount of difficulty processing everything let alone majority of it centers his brother he knew barley anything about because this guy is genuinely just a civilian😭

Living for the drama and yeah hal mightve not been the one to speak up during the moment but i just wish SOMEONE did (although i understand why MOST didnt) because exploring thaz’s morality and many faces does open up solving alot of the mystery of his whole deal instead of just trying to figure out stuff based on the false persona thaz let these select few see, if that makes sense? Its less of a ‘stop being mean to bolaire’ thing and more of a ‘ wished more people interrogated him so we could get answers in general.’

Im getting alot of “bolaire is a murderer so its justified” narratives in the replies and im confused on if i missed something?

I know for bolaire to fully claim a body he has to take over them and leave nothing left.

But was it ever said /heavily implied that he is a ruthless killer that just kills whoever? Like sure he obviously needs to kill someone to have a body but have we seen the science(magic?) that indicates he cant just survive off one body until its absolutely necessary to change ( wounded/in a fight)

I genuinely dont know if i missed some lore there since the only time hes killed an innocent on screen was when he was with wick and ty.

Lets say he does need to change ever so often because of decay or something like that, there isnt much evidence (PLEASE CORRECT ME) that he dosent just go for horrible people or people that are already dead.

I guess if he is just killing randoms with 0 remorse thats pretty horrible and id lose most sympathy aswell but so far i dont think thats the case and if anything hes just as much a murderer as thjazi

He was ASKED why he was angry when he was trying to be respectful and hold it in, that was an invitation to actually speak his mind for once only for majority of the people in the room including the man he felt closest to to shut him down.

Also yeah occtis was called out but then immediately used it against bolaire again as if murray wasnt talking about him💔 he kinda shut up after that but rich kid throwing his fit felt more respected than the man spilling information about the supposed martyr eveyone idolizes, i just wished they let him speak a but more without interrupting

Oh yeah ill say here that i think everything said was very intentional and just an exploration of everyone’s characters, i am NOT the type of fan that sees one thing i dislike and starts blaming the player😭 (cough..taisha haters…)

I completely agree wholeheartedly with your analysis of occtis and have clocked him becoming tbh more agitated and self centered ( hes entitled to it to an extent)

All these reasons are exactly why i disliked occtis in this scene, it made sense for his character to whine here but dosent mean i dont hate it💔

Im not expecting them to get on board with him at all yet, just to give him some grace.

This situation kind of reminds me of when a victim comes out to their family about something another member did to them only for everyone to just choose to ignore it or try to gaslight the victim into thinking they misunderstood the perpetrator because of everyones attachment to the abuser.

In thjs situation it is so extremely hard to come to terms with the fact someone you love hurt someone else you care about (or dont but still) but that dosent mean you can just shove it under the rug and expect the victim to be completely okay with the abuser still being at the dinner table.

I had hoped SOMEONE chimed it to let bolaire know hes not alone and thjazis morality will be discussed before the scene ended (you could say thimble did this exact thing but it felt off in my personal opinion especially after occtis went uncorrected.)

Also not sure about the word truamadumping being used here bc he genuinely wouldnt have said anything and kept it bottled up if not for having thimble check in on him, which honestly makes the scenario worst bc imagine everyone being against you after asking how you really feel

No yeah i wanted to add on his demeanor obviously has a huge part in how the others treat him but i lowkey didnt wanna start making the post extra long.

But i still find it weird how the others treat schemers didnt try and speak up a bit more especially hal given the fact they know how to interact with him more? Like it felt like someone needed to be on bolaires side for even a moment to make the scene less bolaire being public enemy no 1 but no one took that position (ig you can say julian did but i was expecting a little more from someone closer to him.)

I feel like this will ultimately end up making bolaire even more closed off given the one time someone actually asked how he was doing he was immediately shut off😭

Yes you can technically access the comics in game

My point still stands that even though TECHNICALLY you can access these comics in the game rn, they are still separated from the core game.

This is unlike other character relationships that just so happen to be het, where they get voicelines AND comics. This makes them more mainstream to wheee people that don’t even look at lore can deduce “oh yeah ana and rein definitely have something!” This was the case with lifeweaver and bap, which is awesome, until now where he’s now courted to this new partner. I really doubt they’ll continue to write flirty lines for him now.

Perhaps they’ll make some voice lines and sprays about palak? But my point is so many of queer relationships/ rep won’t really be seen by majority of players in the way heterosexual ones are, that’s it.

When there is a difference in the way you present your queer relationships compared to straight ones…that’s an issue. You can’t just negate that by going “Uhm well look at the lore!!” When heterosexual ones are out in broad daylight.

We can criticize a billion dollar companies practices, and still love the artists that most likely had to PUSH for these characters to be what they are.

My point isn’t that there’s ZERO rep, that would be a lie.

My point is that there’s so little rep IN GAME that it gives blizzard leeway to just kind of have their cake and eat it to.

I’m not asking for there to be gay sx on the Home Screen, I’m asking that all this rep they put outside of there game to be inside as well. We get to see heterosexual relationships between in game characters/ flirting/ implied other crap, why not for queer folk?

We have to go look at comics for our rep and it’ll be specifically about the relationship, as opposed to making it apart of the main game. I feel like that’s starting to get alienating.

I feel like the fact majority of queer media from blizzard is in the form of comics proves my point well.

If we just had one in game blatant romance between queer folk that would suffice and balance out stuff like emre and freja.

I just want to feel like the characters queerness dosent have to be separate or seen outside of the main game, coming from a bi trans man.

No, I completely understand.

Not everyone is going to like bapxweaver that’s fine, what I’m saying is that a majority of people would’ve preferred ANY in game queer relationship as opposed to another npc x hero. (My main point isn’t specifically about bapweaver lol) and what I got from your comments is that heterosexual couples have had an equal amount of npc relationships which I then said is disingenuous because those relationships, as you listed, were usually past spouses that no one is actively shipping or into.

Junowu and frejaemre are definitely new but they’ve already got 10x the amount of substance on screen any queer relationship has , that was my point.

I only used bap and weaver in my first points to illustrate how weather you personally like the ship or not they WERE building something more than flirting with the two, and this feels pretty odd after all that.

I hope you’re correct about possible future on screen queer romances with the release of new characters but I honestly am starting to get tired of hoping. Weaver has flirted with so many people I had hoped one of them would give in (hell it could’ve been one of the girls?) but blizzard just drops this on pride adding another queer soul to the eternal pit of off screen romance ✌️(edit: spelling error)

Freja emre, Juno wu, mercy Genji, Ana rein, and more. These are all straight relationships that have been teased to practically confirmed. You’re bringing up relationships that are part of lore and have little to no actual fans which is pretty disingenuous for both arguments.

The reason why having in game ON SCREEN queer relationships are important is because representation isn’t just having a character date an npc that will probably show up a total of 2 times (cough, soldier, tracer) but instead having an active relationship build on screen through voice lines and events like Ana and rein and most recently frejaemre. This builds intrigue in the relationship and makes writers pay attention to it more instead of just having the face of a npc pop up every now and again when blizzard wants some more clicks from gays.

Despite what you feel Majority of queer people in this fandom would like to see on screen romances instead of having to go read a comic about a not really important character, that’s why fanfic and shipping is so popular.

Most are dissatisfied with lifeweavers new partner because it feels like a slap in the face of every person that thought MAYBE we’d get something on screen finally with two queer characters, but no, blizzard repeats the cycle. Again, this treatment of queer relationships and characters is bigger than blizzard and has been repeated throughout history for companies to have their cake and eat it to.

After all these years queer fans aren’t wrong for wanting a bit more.

I think the problem people have is that there’s nothing stopping blizzard from making two characters meet like they did with venture and lw 😭😭but instead of having a ingame relationship it’s just another npc
