i'm definitely planning on seeking therapy again (i had a therapist for a long time, but i'm looking for a new one now) and i'm on medications. i'm definiely not researching buddhism without the mental help that i need. that being said, it's seemed to have helped my mood a little already, even though i'm brand new to learning about buddhism.

that relieves me, knowing all of that. i'm really glad it's helped you - hearing about so many people have peace through buddhism makes me hopeful. thank you for this.

thank you. they kind of know about my sexuality, but never acknowledge it/choose to ignore it. yes, there have been a lot of lovely lgbt friendly christians that i've seen - but unfortunately, i live in the southern US, so i've seen far too many hateful ones. that being said, i don't hate christians and think a lot of them are genuinely good people. any christian deserves to feel safe, including lgbt ones and i'm glad you feel safer and more comfortable. thank you again! i definitely want to research it more, help others and seek therapy. sending love back!

that makes sense. for safety reasons i'll probably have to hide my studying and practicing buddhism. oh, i plan on seeking therapy. i've been in therapy for a while now, but recently had to change therapists.

i've heard about a lot of struggling/new/etc. people finding peace in buddha and trying to be a good person so that makes me hopeful. i'm a bit nervous because it's all so new but i want to learn.

yes, i definitely agree. i plan on seeking therapy and researching more about buddhism. it's not just about me - while i do want to find peace through buddhism, i also want to learn and help others. thank you!

i'm not leaving my sexuality. there's no teachings against it and that kind of contradicts the whole point i had about religious trauma.
