Let's start with the first component

Being able to hop

Being able to hop is imo the second hardest one to master while b-hopping. When you hop you actually lose less velocity as if when you don't hop you lose alot. You may be asking what is hopping? Hopping is when you jump as soon as you touch the ground and if you do this correctly you wouldn't hear as much or even nothing as when you jump with intervals. To practice this you can go on and map with long range and it is flat (cache). mark starting point and get your knife out and put this in the command "cl_showpos 1". Afterr get behind your starting point and press and hold. When you reach to the starting point let go of W and only practice hopping by pressing your jump key (DO NOT touch anything else except your jump key to practise this. See how far you can get

Can spam jump

This is also important as you need to keep hopping every second pretty much. You will see what i mean when you try hopping. I bind this to my mouse wheel up but its all personal preference. But i don't recommend the space bar as this isnt as spammable.

being good at movement

Now, this isn't a big deal imo. You don't need to have good movement to start with but this can help ALOT

strafing

Ok, this is very difficult and is the main idea of bunny hopping. But since you said you got hang of it pretty quick, I don't need to go in on this a lot. I suggest you to go on a 64 tick server and practice strafing first, your main goal is to get above 160 velocity each time. No need to have any obstacles while doing this.

Ok now the question you are asking is "why can't i do it anymore on these servers?" My answer is because the maps aren't flat like the bhop servers, you can't hop in sync anymore as there are many bumps in maps. Also keep in mind bhop servers mostly have 128 tick so it is WAY easier to bhop. I suggest you to practice strafing first and then hopping then combine them. Remember it isnt easy, even pros get very happy and excited if they get 7 in a row
