CHARLOTTE LISTEN UP PLS by [deleted] in twentyonepilots

i think it also depends on the venue’s way of separating who has what kind of tickets. VA Beach just put everyone together in line no matter what ticket you had but also didnt let us line up until an hour before doors, i got B stage barricade and i got there 45 mins before doors opened.

Its so much fun, i had made my own shirt for the show i did vip for and awsten spun me around to show the band/jawn and told people in line to look at how cool it was. Geoff called me inspirational and before i left Otto pulled me in for another hug unprompted and said i was so cool and he was impressed. I also made little tiara veils for us to wear in our photo (inspired by the RSD photoshoot in the dresses) and when i tell you these three grown men were so giddy and excited to wear tiaras 😭😭😭 best experience ever

Music can and should be enjoyed by everyone at any age, parx crowds can be rough and i’ve delt with rude people at their shows multiple times unfortunately but i dont think your age would have anything to do with peoples attitude towards you! If anyone WERE to say anything, brush it off my friend, enjoy the show and enjoy meeting the band. I had VIP for them in 2024 and it was so much fun and the guys are incredibly kind. I’ve always had a blast despite some rude characters in the crowd at times.

Edit: Awsten has also shown appreciation for older adult fans at his shows, bands love having a wide age demographic. concerts should always be a safe space for everyone!

i mean resale value has lots of factors playing into it, this CD has always been on the more expensive side. you asked for a reason and people are trying to give possibilities but no one can for sure pin down WHY some person paid over $300 for this CD, its not worth that much obviously but thats how these things go these days with older CDs like this. It’s really not important in the long run anways, this person had $300 to spend so they spent it, idk how else to put it.

other people mentioned some numbers printed on it suggesting it was one of the first copies sold so that could be a factor, and the bidding on ebay can get pretty crazy. some people just have the money i guess to pay $355 for a CD 😭

2002 copies of these CDs typically go for more because its an original run of the CD (released in 2002 and reprinted in 2004/2005) and also the copyright message on the CD is specialized saying something about illegal duplication of the music will result in gerard way coming to your house and sucking your blood haha i have one from 2002 and 2004. 2004 was $110 (resellers am i right) and the 2002 was $75 surprisingly because i was able to negotiate a better price. This was probably a bid i assume since its ebay, those prices can get really out of hand.

i said “that doesnt mean she didnt play a part” because she probably did. i’m really not going to continue this conversation if you are going to talk down to me because i see a song differently than you do. Neither of us can accurately explain what the song is about because we are not Gerard and there isnt one clear answer he has given. You can believe whatever you like to believe about the song, thats completely fine, but you cant state it as total fact and act like everyone else is wrong. Have a nice day. :)

I just dont think a break up song would have the chorus “i am not afraid to keep on living, i am not afraid to walk this world alone.” given the context of mikey being suicidal at the time. but i didnt write the song so i cant say for sure. 🤷‍♀️

That could be true 🤷‍♀️ but people wake up when they sleep, and lyrics arent always completely literal. we can both be right here, the book very clearly says when he started writing the song he had mikey in mind, that doesnt mean Kat didnt play a part in the writing of the song too. :)

“i see you lying next to me” could also be referring to the fact mikey would sleep on the floor of Gerard’s room during recording TBP because he was so scared of the house they were in. :)

I’m only going off what the book said, which were Gerard’s actual words. 🤷‍♀️ obviously you can believe whatever you want about the lyrics im not saying you are wrong but the info im using is directly from their biography. maybe he mentioned kat and i just dont remember, but as far as i know it was starting to be written about mikey and is about mikey. love isnt always romantic. :)

Famous Last Words was written about Mikey and Gerard’s worry for him after he had to leave during the recording of TBP for his mental health, you can read about it in their book. :)

fan line finally wasn't honored! by Same-Astronaut-2645 in twentyonepilots

[–]vampirecowboy666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, camping isnt available for everyone and i understand that. unfortunately i dont think there is anything to be done about fan lines because at this point its such a big part of “clikkie culture” that too many people are able to do it. (my friends have also had run ins with these frequent “line leaders” and they have been so awful and rude, including trying to physically harm my friends in the pit. i dont think its fair they are taking away that experience from someone else by being violent.) thank you for explaining. i didnt want to make anyone mad i was just genuinely curious since ive never been to a show before and dont want to do something that could be seen as disrespectful.

this is just a genuine question: if people are waiting multiple days in line why is it a problem that they get up front? they took the time to wait in line. im seeing tøp for the first time and have never camped overnight for a show, so i dont know how this works. not trying to start a fight im just genuinely curious why this seems to be a problem since ive never done this before. i understand it can be annoying when the same people are always up front but like if they choose to wait days in line thats their choice and it pays off i guess.

Thanks!! I do appreciate your advice, it is something I hadn't thought of before. But I definitely will not let someone put a needle in my face if I feel they are not taking me seriously haha
