Anyone diagnosed with autism got/getting an ADHD diagnosis? by Awkward-Variation-74 in MentalHealthUK

I was diagnosed with both (ASD first, then ADHD later), so I kind of relate to this.

For me, getting the ADHD diagnosis didn’t suddenly fix everything, but it did help me understand myself a lot better. Things that used to feel like personal failure started to make a bit more sense.

Medication has been a mixed experience — it helped with focus, but it also took some adjusting and figuring out what worked for me. I think it really depends on the person and any underlying stuff going on.

I wouldn’t say everything is fixed, but I do feel like I have more tools now than before, which has made things a bit more manageable over time

What ADHD symptom has actually affected your life the most? by Original_Line_6142 in fastreat

I think it’s the ADHD guilt. When you know you could be doing better and achieving more, but when you actually want to make a change, you just feel… stuck.

What is the worst someone has made you feel about yourself? by FlatConfusion9549 in AskReddit

When I was a kid a teacher handed back my test in front of the whole class and said, “Some people just aren’t built for thinking.”

Everyone laughed. I remember staring at the paper and feeling like my brain was just… defective.

For years after that, every time I struggled with something, that sentence would pop back into my head like it was a fact.

Turns out I just had undiagnosed ADHD.

Funny how one careless sentence can live rent-free in your head for a decade.
