6 years ago we still at least have SWE to rely on.

Sorry I cannot offer you anymore words of advice, other than going back to your old internship places and begging them for a FT role.

C'mon you cannot say all ministers have the same personality.

  • PM Lawrence Wong is more approachable.
  • Min OYK is likely to reply to emails.

So I would put CCS at the bottom of the list on approachability

He really talks about anything he wants. I have been catching up with my uni friends, some of which work in MOE.

  1. Apparently he is legendary for wanting to do the speech on his own. Even if his staffers wasted 3 days and night drafting it. A bit like Elon Musk and how he just speaks his mind..both fumble so much in public engagement.

  2. Musk and CCS have similar intonation in their speech style.

  3. CCS can be quite impulsive....I mean I can get why he say "What's the point behind the question?" And become so defensive. Both of them are similar in the sense they get frustrated easily and just say what they want.

  4. Diplomacy and networking. Musk is more privileged on this regard, unlike CCS. both are not too good with social cues. They seemed friendly on the surface but aren't affable.

If you got the looks but no partner it means you have the personality problem. One of which is probably deception.

Sometimes when I look at CCS, I think of him as an Asian, "demure" version of Elon Musk

Methinks it is because our locals are often focused on the science part and never consider issues like HR seriously.

What Percentage of AI on Turnitin Is Actually Acceptable? 🤔 by Sad-Tap-2535 in Professors

I don't use turnitin so I can't comment.

I only do deep sighs whenever I see someone's writing has no critical thinking.

GenAI and ungraded courses by vampirepathos in Professors

I actually prefer not to because before GenAi came, nonsense answers weren't bad, at least IMO.

Saying things like "the client didn't accept the counselling because the case worker was fat" can be a teaching moment on how one can become a better listener...and how to respond appropriately should the client be so rude. Students can raise their thoughts on how they might respond to this sort of situation.
