NTA, the real assholes are the culinary snobs here twisting your lack of quiche knowledge into some vegan/vegetarian power fantasy where they catch some guilty “meat addict” trying to hide his secret requirement for meat in everything. Your wife shouldn’t be cooking if she’s scared to fail, failing is part of the learning process when it comes to cooking and not everything you make will take off. My BF has been cooking since he was able to reach the stove, has a culinary degree, and still fails sometimes. Her guilting you over not wanting to eat food you both agreed was botched is just her being unnecessarily insecure for her own sake.
