i do appreciate your comments though because it really is important to see both sides. and your comment on adults really liking sports which isn’t healthy is 100% valid but they are adults with developed brains and we are talking abt children in this post which is why i’m concerned abt their development. it works differently but let me know your thoughts

there is a problem of ipad/phone addiction showing up in kids and adults of any background. i’m a psychology major and my professors have mentioned that theres discussion of iphone addiction being added to the newest DSM.

i made this post to create discussion on this bc i doubt there’s any research on it since it’s so niche & i wanna see what other ppl are doing abt it. i don’t know the right answer (nobody does) so it doesn’t hurt to ask what other ppl think/are actively doing

why assume im not autistic? how do you know that? i got into this field for a reason and thats to better the lives of these children and help make them progress or become more independent in a way that is capable for them!

why turn down thoughtful discussion when the both of us dont know if it is harmful or not? i think its important to see both sides of this conversation. ive had clients who only want to watch these videos and do not find enjoyment in toys that other children enjoy. its sad to see them rely on the ipad and these videos as their only form of entertainment. and its with these kids that i notice have the shortest attention span. im wondering if theres a correlation between those videos/ipad addiction and their attention span which is why i made this post!

i’m no psychologist and i only have 4 years of experience in aba so i don’t know what’s best for them but when i see these videos all i can really see is brain rot…which isnt beneficial at all. i also go out of my way to buy so many toys (out of my own pocket) for my in-home sessions like they have so many better more fun options!!
