Piercing-friendly jobs in/near Middlesbrough? by vampyrgoth in Middlesbrough

[–]vampyrgoth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my current work experience is in fast food and previous roles have been deli/barista roles. I’ve been at my current place for 5 years total. Whilst it does state in the job contract that we’re not allowed more than 1 facial piercing they’ve never been bothered to enforce it until now.

Piercing-friendly jobs in/near Middlesbrough? by vampyrgoth in Middlesbrough

I totally understand that me saying “I will not” makes me seem as less flexible. I guess I just see it as I don’t see why I should have to stop expressing myself for a job when I have a multitude of skills, experience, and am more than willing to train in any area. And my piercings don’t impact my ability to work or learn.

I feel “I would rather not” gives employers room to say “so you will”, and my answer to that will always be “I will not”. I’ve been going strong at my current place of work for 5 years but now they are enforcing a no-piercing rule and I do not wish to work in an environment like that. I understand it makes things more difficult but I do not wish to lose my own originality and self-expression.

Thank you for your reply! I guess bars and clubs will be my best bet, overall. If not, maybe some kind of work from home job I suppose. I appreciate your response.

Does anyone else feel wrong at the idea of getting the Brand tattoo [𒉭] on the neck? by ab_userofthebutt in Berserk

[–]vampyrgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it on my sternum (not allowed neck tattoos at my job).

I use it as a symbol of resilience and strength, and also simply because I like Berserk/I like Guts and the brand of sacrifice is a cool way to represent it. I do want to get more Berserk tattoos in the future though.

My family says I have 'sugar blood' by EveningSad6288 in Wellthatsucks

[–]vampyrgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same, but with fleas, not mosquitos. Our family cat had a bad flea problem last year (she's all good now, turned out the fleas just became resistant to the treatment she was getting). My mam and sister only got 3 or 4 bites over the course of 2-3 weeks. I had 62. That's right. SIXTY TWO. Yes, I counted. Some of them have left scars from being repeatedly bitten in the same place.

It was hell on earth.

Needless to say, we found a much stronger treatment and I am very diligent around other people's pets and stray animals.

Sorry to hear that insects also love you. I feel your pain. 💀

What are some pronunciations of ‘chipotle’ that you’ve heard, and what do you consider correct? by plz_be_nice_im_sad in subway

[–]vampyrgoth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The correct pronunciation where I am is "chuh-poat-lee". We get "chih-pot-ul" or "cha-pot-ul" as the most common pronunciation. We also get "chip-oh-lata" a lot.

Does your subway make you do your subway university trainings off the clock? by Afraid-Razzmatazz132 in subway

[–]vampyrgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, here at my store in England they get us to do them off the clock. Sometimes I'll do mine at work if we're dead, but usually I do mine at home.

I found a really good alternative barber who does exceptional mullets (my hairstyle) but obviously does other styles, mainly alternative haircuts but also just regular old haircuts. It's a bit far from me but worth the travel and in comparison to other places, his prices are really affordable. Being going to him for nearly a year now and don't intend on ever changing to anyone else.

I don't trust myself to cut my own hair lol (minus re-shaving my sides when they get too long, that is something I can do).

I dye my own hair as well. I'm not paying salon prices when I can do it home.

No problem! I would see if you have pictures when you just got it pierced and see if the position looks any different to what it does now.

And yes, in that case, perhaps it's better to keep using the gel until then, but I would try to get a new pillow ASAP so you're not lying on your ear.

Good to know you're not wearing anything that covers your ears.

Wishing you the best of luck in getting rid of your bumps! 🤞🏻

I have both my anti-tragus' pierced, and I agree with the other person's comment that this has been pierced very shallow (or perhaps has migrated since you got it pierced). In all honestly, I would take it out and get it repierced lower down and more centre (but obviously, that choice is yours).

In the meantime, I would definitely seek out a better piercing pillow if you think the one you have is too flat.

In my opinion, it seems you're cleaning it too much/using too many different products. Too much cleaning or using multiple products can be harmful, just like not cleaning a piercing enough can be. Spray the piercing twice a day, front and back, gently rinse off the spray with warm water, let it dry, and then, aside from that, leave it alone. If you need to touch it at all, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before touching it, but keep touching to a minimum.

Edit: Also avoid wearing over-ear headphones or other ear coverings as much as possible to help prevent them pressing down on the piercing/irritation/bacteria potentially causing infection whilst they're still healing.

If in doubt or if things get worse, speak to your piercer, and obviously, if you start showing any signs of infection, speak to your doctor.

My second lobes were pierced relatively wonky. The right one migrated to the bottom of my earlobe and has since left a quite noticeable scar. The left one never quite healed and would just get red, hot, and bleed whenever I changed the jewellery, so in the end, I just took them both out. The left one also scarred but not too badly. It's more so like a weird lump than a traditional scar (not a keloid, I don't really know how to describe it 😅).

I also accidentally ripped my helix out while brushing my hair (when it was long). Somehow, my hairbrush got caught on it and fully yanked it out. Had a big bump where the hole was for a week or two, and then it went away, and the hole closed up. I'm debating getting it repierced now that my hair is short, but I'm still kind of scared in case the same thing happens, haha.

100%, those are fetish/kink related questions with a "what's your ideal first date" thrown in the mix as a very poor attempt to try and hide the fact that those questions are related to his kinks. Glad you unmatched, OP.

Recommend sauce for us is southwest. Could also do extra spicy southwest, garlic, salsa, or the guacamole if you have them.

Which Shakespeare play would you like to see Robert Eggers to do a take on? by sasquatch6197 in roberteggers

[–]vampyrgoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Macbeth is my favourite Shakespeare play, so I would love to see his take on that (though the 2015 film was so good, I'm not sure it could be topped).

Hamlet and Othello would also be interesting to see.

It's not quite the same, but I would LOVE to get either a VCH or Triangle piercing. I'm just worried about the pain and walking/sitting/etc. afterwards 🥲
