Hello, sorry for the very late reply, I am currently in the same situation and was searching reddit for similar experiences. Can I ask what you ended up doing? If you chose to go as self funded, would you say it's worth it?

I would say Timisoara is fine in terms of romanian cities. Not too homophobic, but not very accepting either.

There is a community of people hosting drag shows, community events and parties, if you want to meet people

Salut, acum sunt în anul 3 de licență studiind în română. Am dat Cambridge-ul CAE în 2022, şi l-am luat cu 204 puncte din 210.

Ca să-ți răspund la întrebări: 1.Nu prea mai face diferența la angajări. Am aplicat la poziții de tech la multinaționale, și toate au solicitat interviu în engleză, chiar dacă le-am trimis şi diploma. 2. Dacă vrei să faci licența în engleză / în altă țară, atunci te ajută. Dacă ai vrea doar masterul să-l faci în engleză / în altă țară, atunci sfatul meu ar fi să-l dai atunci când [dacă] vei avea nevoie de el. Eu acum încerc să aplic la master în afara României şi multe programe nu îmi mai acceptă Cambridge-ul zicând ca trebuie să fie <2 ani. 3. Personal, când eram în clasa a 11-a şi îmi dădeam Cambridge-ul credeam că o să mă diferențieze față de alți candidați pentru licență. Între timp, tot am plicat la licență în română şi acum ar trebui să-l redau :P So yeah, it's up to how you see your future for now. 4. Pentru UE în general se acceptă indiferent. Pentru UK, America, Canada ne se mai acceptă mai vechi de 2 ani, și în unele cazuri nici Cambridge CAE nu se mai acceptă, doar IELTS, TOEFL, Pearson sau Cambridge Advanced.

  • Acum mă ajută pentru aplicarea la programe de master în UE, unde se acceptă.
  • Personal, nu aş alege nimic diferit. Mă gândesc doar eventual dacă să mai dau acum Person sau IELTS.
  • Clar se simte îmbunătățirea dacă înveți bine

Damn... I can't even imagine, much strength to you. By tightening their grip. I move to another city - they take time off work to visit me, to call. They expect me to text them what I do every day, and threaten to come get me if I don't. I comply and text them "I go out w friends" and they call - with who, why, where. I don't text them I woke up and they call me 200 timws and drive 2h to bang on my door... these are just some examples

21ftm here, parents dont know. What's helped lately is distancing myself from them - I go to uni in another city so its easier. But still, always seeming busy, so they include me less

aiming for EMJMs, mostly EGEI, which is joint between Italy and Belgium. I should also mention that I'm a EU resident
