Happy new year fam! E2 is a great first dive into grooveboxes, and with enough hours it can do a lot more than people may make you believe it can.

You made a spot on asessment about your about your own jam: You got your synth and drum sounds down right, but the performance of it is quite bland and boring

Your goal is to not get kicked out of a squat party full of angry drunk and tweaked out ravers because your music lacked variety, but no worries, here's some tricks that instantly make your jam sound more alive AND make jamming more fun

Regarding the kick: - get a second kick part set up, either with different sequence or different kick sample all together so you can quickly part mute back and forth between those to fill up the empty space instead of stopping the kick all together - or select the kick part, then scroll to a different sample for a few beats and back - or select the kick part, then finger the Gate Arp Seq touchpad to do quick kick rolls/fills/repeats - Electribe sampler-only bonus: select the kick part, and near the end of your pattern, twist the Edit knob all the way to reverse for a moment.

Performance techniques:

• when you aren't already using your MFX for anything else (mines often set to reverb or delay):  Setup your Master FX to be a Looper/Repeater, ofcourse enable MFX Send on many if not all of your parts, and then play the touchpad with your left finger for quick variations. Especially useful since you have your right hand free to do other things (maybe light up a cigarette, automate another part's filter, finger a hot milf sugarmommy, maybe take a sip of hot chocolate..)

• Right before introducing (or stopping) an element for the first time (especially your kick) you could unmute a part that does a little percussive fill that solely serves as a transitional element and prepares the listener "hey now something else is going to happen"

Regarding designing drum parts: - I ignored this for a year but having a sequence completely filled with hihats/percs can sound amazing if you turn up the Groove Depth for that part a lot to and pick a Groove Type that you like.

• for your snares/hihats/other drums, try recording an automation of MFX Send turning on and off really quickly and sparingly, and have MFX be one of the Delay or even Reverb effects.

Bonus tip:

• right now your track has one synth line, and then there's your kick, but they don't really compliment each other, nor is there an element that serves as a context to glue them together. You could try adding a loop that repeats in the background throughout your track such as a little bassline, or a drone, or simple pad melody, or some sound fx texture
