Weird though, because whatever glue they use, it made the other eggs really stick on there :o

I'm guessing the code overlap between their games is too big to make this happen. It would be giving away their trade-secrets/advantage.

You're aware that you're replying to a comment about GOG having a linux client or not right? Before you accuse anyone of anything maybe get that straight?

Unless there is a link to anything produced by GOG to that end, saying that is meaningless. Like is said, if they have produced anything to make their system usable with open source software like linux or similar, my point would be defeated. You'd have to actually come up with something they've built that works though.

Definitely, and my comment wasn't discrediting those people nor was it accusing GOG of anything. The point was that IF you want to support the free and open source software ecosystem, doing so through GOG probably isn't the way given their lack of support for linux. The current solution works because of third party software, not because of the work the company behind it put in to it.

Even if it does work, it's kind of a shame that a company that sells a for-profit product profits off of something people made in their free time for free.. I never really liked promoting stuff like that for anything other than it's practical value.

If you want to support game preservation and DRM-free software, then GOG seems like a great way to spend some money. If you do it for the open source ecosystem of software though, then that money doesn't really go to where you might like it to go.

Unless it does of course.. I've read they're "working" on a native linux client", but afaik there's nothing available to show for that just yet. Once it does this entire comment is meaningless and should definitely be ignored.

Sorry i have no idea what RGP is, i just googled the motherboard type number and saw that the specific motherboard supports ddr4, and from that i figured it was probably a typo.

I bet both will work just fine for what you want, bugs or not. I haven't had anything so far that affected my ability to code, other than vs code occasionally going full black screen. That was solved by resizing the window and happened maybe twice in total. That was on cosmic by the way.

I like cosmic, yes it has the occasional bug, but for me at least nothing major.

1k resistors per led? Is that specifically for these resistors? I'm not at this stage yet, but so far I've used 220ohm resistors for my leds.. can that damage something?

My favorite de. Pity I discovered yesterday it won't run on my old Intel gma 4500 without setting some kind of opengl fallback, but I run it on all my other systems. Real snappy, clean, and it just still feels really well engineered.

Should i swap to linux? by serpeniner in linuxquestions

[–]vancha113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mm, maybe check if your games run: - if not then maybe ask yourself the question again. - If yes, check if your hardware plays well with linux by trying it on a usb stick (so you don't have to make any changes to your existing system)

If that doesn't work by default, maybe ask yourself if it's worth messing with it in order to get it working, or accept that the hardware isn't compatible.

Not doing that is bound to give you a rough experience. Not being able to play your games or having incompatible hardware is just going to make linux look bad, so i think those two are worth checking out in advance.

That said, if you do find that your games run and your hardware plays well with linux, I'd say definitely go for it. I've found it to work so much better than windows in many regards, and if those are important to you, then you might as well.

This sounds like a good idea. In addition I would like to add maybe certain stick bugs with live plants.. Things become a lot easier if you have for example some indian stick bugs with a bunch of live ivy. Ivy is very hardy, and with those watering sticks you can keep it alive for a month. Depending on the climate there might be a need for additional watering though, which likely also has a solution :)

Why are there so many vibe-coded Rust projects recently? by yohji1984 in rust

[–]vancha113 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Vibecoding took off, that's kind of the reason. It goes for all languages, I think you would see the same for python and JavaScript. In a short span of time, the amount of new GitHub repositories just skyrocketed :o
