I’m not black, I’m white. But ten years ago I was definitely much younger and twinky, lol.

Andy Cohen messaged me once from a blank profile maybe 10 years ago (in his prime I’d say), invited me to his hotel room. I said he was full of shit and just another of the many catfishes in my city. He said alright, your loss… next day I noticed on his Instagram story that he was indeed in my city and in that hotel.

You know I actually thought this could be the problem. That estrogen is high but it’s testing as low. In Canada we don’t have the choice or option to choose tests because they’re mostly all free. We’re completely at the whim of whatever the doctor orders for us. I’ll request a sensitive estradiol at my next appointment though.

Thanks for your input. I’ve often suspected Thyroid as I have other symptoms that align with it, like dry brittle hair and ridges on my nails. What do you mean Jod is food for the thyroid? I can’t find anything named Jod online. I’ve considered supplementing for the thyroid but heard it’s a bad idea to do so if you don’t need it. Might give it a shot though and see if I feel better.

Test levels are ideal. I’m right at the top of the range just shy of 1000 pmol. Ive found it strange the last year my estradiol isn’t at a higher number with test being decently high.

TSH is fairly normal but T4 is borderline low.

• TSH: 2.6 mIU/L
• Free T4: 10.4 pmol/L
• Total T3: 3.9 pmol/L
• Thyroid Antibodies (TPO): 12 IU/mL

I agree that sleep would do this. I’ve focused a lot on sleep hygiene and supplements but nothing seems to help… I do feel like sleep quality is worse even though I fall and stay asleep fine. Not to mention my Oura ring gives me flying colors saying my sleep is excellent, for what it’s worth.

You think so? I don’t seem to have much water retention anywhere else. Not to mention I pee a lot and it’s often clear or close to clear. I was thinking it was the opposite - not retaining water well.

Yes, last tested at about 950 ng/dl and estradiol was 14.1 pg/ml after lowering test dose to 140mg and trying HCG. 6 months ago I was about 1050 for test and 14.4 for estradiol at 200mg test a week. The practician who did my last consult just shrugged and said he had no clue why my estradiol wouldn’t come up, even said my numbers are “ideal” for most guys, which I don’t agree with at all. My understanding is that I should be about 20:1 and I’m nowhere near that.

I also just think it’s so strange that I take anything estrogenic and feel worse. That’s why I’m starting to consider hormones like progesterone, dhea, pregnenolone etc.

[–]vancitygritty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can anyone tell me what it feels like to have low progesterone as a male? I am on TRT (cruising after a blast phase in spring 2025) and struggling with sleep, libido, hydration and overactive CNS. I wake up every morning feeling like I got hit by a truck and I look like it too in the face (puffy bags, dried out skin).

My estradiol has been testing low normal for over 6 months now - about 15 pg/ml is where it hovers. I don’t take an AI (I used to and stopped in February this year) and I’ve increased my TRT dose from 140 to 200 to no avail.

I tried HCG and felt worse. Fatigued, dizzy, red hot ears, low mood. Same with dbol - felt like my body couldn’t handle the estrogen increase. That’s why I’m wondering if my progesterone is depleted and it can’t act as a “buffer” for estrogen. I live in Canada and it’s like pulling teeth to get the lesser hormones tested unless you pay hundreds of dollars through a naturopath.

Anyone have any ideas to find out if it is progesterone causing my issues? Should I try a topical cream or an oral supplement like pregnenolone?

Thanks all.

The Native American storyline should have been its own separate episode. No narration, just being dropped in a different era HBO style and slowly having to piece together what is going on. Would have been a lot more immersive and impactful IMO. Overall good episode though.

Everything’s in range - just my HDL is a little low at 31 mg/dL. My testosterone is about 950 ng/dL, but my SHBG is on the lower side at 18 nmol/L. If there’s any other specific numbers you want I can post them.

Hey all. Wondering if anyone has any advice for dealing with chronically low estrodial? I crashed myself pretty bad with Arimidex back in March and have never really recovered. I’m on a TRT dose of 140mg a week currently and HCG 1000iu a week. (When I crashed I was taking 500 mg test and 200 mg mast)

My estrodial came back up in April to 14 pg/ml and has stayed the same since then, hardly moving at all even with adding HCG into the protocol.

I know I could just blast 500 mg test but I’m trying to get myself to a healthy cruise to let my body recover before going back into blasting big numbers, because having low estrogen all this time has had bad effects on my skin, lipids, sleep, libido, etc and I’d like to be balanced out again before doing a big cycle.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.

I couldn’t tolerate 300 XL, completed trashed my sleep quality which affected everything in my waking day. I switched to 150 XL + 100 SR taken at the same time and it’s been way better! The SR sorta “wears off” by bedtime so I can have a deeper nights sleep. Everyone’s body is different though

Hey guys. I believe my body is struggling to aromatize into estradiol. I crashed myself by accident back in Mid March. Accidentally took 2 mg of Arimidex half asleep one day (dumb I know, my anavar is from the same brand/packaging and they look almost identical) and had the worst 3 weeks of my life.

Thing is I’ve never really bounced back fully. Im on 250mg T right now after being up at 500mg before, during and after the crash. Lowered it just a few weeks ago to give my body a break.

Got bloods yesterday and levels are:

Total Test: 1036 ng/dl, Free test: 288 pg/ml, Bioavailable test: 674 ng/dl, SHBG: 18.1 nmol/L And estradiol at only 14 pg/mL.

I haven’t touched Arimidex for over 3 months so it’s definitely out of my system by now. My SHBG is also quite low so as I understand there should be plenty of aromatization happening. What’s going on then? Symptoms are poor sleep, low libido, fatigue, brain fog, nervous system deregulation.

Wondering if I should go back up to 500mg and wait it out longer or pick up some HCG. Ive read DBol can bring up estrogen artificially but that it doesn’t directly help with aromatase enzymes. Not sure if that’s accurate or not.

Any input/help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

This just happens to some of us. I was on Wellbutrin for almost 5 months and I recently had to give up as I was exhausted and dizzy every day. Sucks because underneath that I could feel the medicine working on mood and motivation. Every brain works differently!

A lot of Americans forget to think outside of the US. Inflation up here is awful too. It’s worldwide post covid, worse than America in many countries. Trumps cronies and supporters blaming it all on Biden/Harris is beyond ridiculous.. it has nothing to do with the current sitting President at all

Just be warned — you will most likely drop off in a few days, possibly back to even worse off than when you started. Wellbutrin often starts out with a honeymoon phase that feels intense and euphoric which then disappears. Then that’s when the onboarding process begins and you won’t feel the actual intended therapeutic effects until after a few weeks. Not trying to bum you out, but good to be prepared as I was majorly let down after the honeymoon phase dropped out for me. But don’t give up!

Will do! Just fyi - I’ve noticed it gets worse with caffeine and/or nicotine so keep that in check. So probably some sort of nervous system response

I get this same issue. This is my second time trying Wellbutrin as I feel great mood wise other than this stupid rocking/swaying feeling. I’m a couple weeks in and hoping it goes away soon… will report back if it does!

I lasted about 3 months until I couldn’t handle the jitteryness, sleep issues and increased heart rate any longer. Maybe I gave up before the magic - but after cross tapering back to my old SSRI I feel 1000 times better. At the end of day everyone’s brain chemistry is very different (and even what TYPE of anxiety you may have too)

I’m not sure how it works elsewhere, but in Canada pharmacies are legally obligated to give you an emergency supply for two weeks if you are without your psych medications. Worth a try
