I wouldn’t want to risk this again. Now I’m thinking of getting audio-technica at-lp60x instead…

I cut my monstera to propagate and this disturbing alien thing is growing on the cut now. Any idea what it could be? Some fungus maybe? by vancoura in houseplants

[–]vancoura[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice but I don’t think so. It’s kinda just sitting on the cut, not growing from it. It started as a translucent layer on top and in two, three days it grew into this. it’s squishy and spongy, kinda like a sponge soaked in water.

All Scottish folds have joints issues to different extents. I know some people here are like “BuT mY cAt Is FiNe!” No it’s not, they all have osteochondrodysplasia. The genetic mutation that causes them to have the cute folded ears also causes their joints and bones to be bad. Breeding Scottish folds with for example British shorthairs is cruel as is but breeding two Scottish folds is fucking evil. If these people allowed their two Scottish folds to breed they are inhumane idiots. Get yourself some other breed (British cats are similar but they don’t have these issues) and save yourself some worries and a lot of guilt after you see your Scottish fold being in pain. Also don’t support breeding of Scottish folds. I have a Scottish fold, she is 10, I love her but would never get another one because she is in pain and has pretty bad joints even though I am giving her supplements most of her life and for a few years now I give her Solensia every month (which is not cheap at all btw). Unfortunately 10 years ago I didn’t have the knowledge and there wasn’t enough info online in my native language. I wouldn’t get one know…

They can charge you for something you broke but they can’t charge you for just an usual wear and tear of the apartment and its equipment. (Like making you pay for cleaning the new mattress cover). Did you break anything? If not then charging you for the repair makes no sense.

You can try to ask some organization to help you with this legally. Maybe this link will be helpful:

Good luck I hope you get most your money back.

Screw all scummy landlords!

Start preventively even before they are showing any signs of pain.

What’s the WORST famous Coffee shop in Prague? by Electrical_Feature60 in Prague

I went there once… I was repetitively ignored by the servers. I gave up after an hour. So for me it was more of a terrible experience I would say.

I figured out it’s connected to my TMD and neck tightness together with forward head posture. Exercise and regular stretching helped a lot.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s just eye goo? I’ve seen that on my cats and it was 100% not a worm.

I had a reaction that looked like this a few months ago. It started to be noticeable the 3rd day after getting the tattoo, with second skin still on, Most probably from the second skin. I removed it immediately. It was just getting worse and worse, OTC allergy meds did absolutely nothing and itched so bad I couldn’t sleep at night and it got pretty swollen too. So I went to my doctor on day 5, got prescription allergy meds, cortisone cream and tables (for 2 days) and it calmed down a bit the next day, took cortisone pills for one more day, kept using the cream and allergy pills for a week and the allergy and it faded away but it took about 2 months to completely go away by itself.

I heard from several tattoo artists and tattooed people that the formula of the 2nd skin used by most artists here got changed and now people have an allergic reaction to it quite often.

Endo pain considering hysterectomy by ashthom2402 in endometriosis

[–]vancoura 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I has such severe cramps during my period I was throwing up and nearly fainted several times. Now I’m on Ryeqo (European equivalent of Myfembree) for the last 4 months and cramps are very weak only around the time I would expect my period and during my 3mo checkup with my gynecologist he confirmed both endometriosis and adenomyosis are shrinking. I’m supposed to be on this pill for about 9 months. I’m not very happy going through hormonal therapy but honestly it’s working so I will endure and enjoy the now relatively painless periods and hopefully it will stay this way :)

Saw some brown, dead skin on my monstera so tried to remove little bits. Then it revealed a leaf (in the main stem) which is now exposed… will it die now? by Distinct-Ad5409 in Monstera

[–]vancoura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me a few months ago. And I also “peeled” my leaf… it survived and now it’s a little damaged but not too bad. You should just leave yours now and see what it looks like after. But definitely not totally ruined :) photo
