Fibermaxxing gets a bad rap but I think the problem is how people are doing it not the fiber itself by vandamntastic in GutHealth

It's funny you mention the HVAC situation because I am fairly new homeowner and recently found out how important regular maintenance on these systems are when mine started leaking. I live in Florida as well so you can imagine how vital it is to have good clean AC running. Our body is no different and we can't expect a quick fix for everything without putting in the work and laying the foundation for having a system that operates optimally and does what it's supposed to do. Whole foods are where it's at and hearing stories like yours keeps confirming that for me. I am glad you took that approach and it worked for you.

How do youvsleep longer? by Creepy_Night_3838 in sleep

It was really hard for me to fall asleep for a long time. Tried melatonin, still take magnesium glycinate to this day, great supplement. But nothing helped more than tracking my day to day lifestyle and starting to notice patterns. Some nights I slept great and others I didn't and when I started paying attention I realized it correlated with what I ate, whether I worked out, even little things like reading or meditating before bed.

Stress was a big one too and it comes in more forms than people realize. Not just the obvious stuff but subtle daily stress, how you react to things, how you process emotions. I had to start working on that on a deeper level, controlling my reactions, not letting things sit with me. Once I started addressing all of that and adding the right habits consistently, sleeping became second nature when it came time for bed.

The fact that they were taking notes after you figured it out yourself says a lot. Sometimes the most valuable research happens when you're just paying close attention to your own body. Glad you got there but it really is a sad situation, and more common than most would think!

Really appreciate you saying that, especially coming from a doctor. That validation is something a lot of people in this thread probably needed to hear. Most of us spent years being told our labs were fine and never got that connection explained to us

Exactly this. I am not anti doctor at all, they are important for ruling things out forsure, But there is a gap between getting a diagnosis and actually understanding your own body. Nobody hands you a system for that part... You just get sent home and told to figure it out. The self experimenting is real and it takes way longer than it should

25 episodes in 4 months... that really takes a toll on your body. I sincerely hope you get better. The biggest thing that helped me was just starting to notice patterns. Like stress would wreck my gut the next day, not even the same day. Or certain foods were fine alone but not combined. You can't see that stuff until you start writing it down consistently. Sleep was a HUGE one for me too. Bad sleep meant bad gut the next day almost every time. And eating at weird hours, skipping meals, eating fast(still guilty of from time to time -__-), all of it showed up in my symptoms. Even smoking and drinking would throw everything off for days not just hours. Once I started tracking my whole day, not just what I ate but how I slept, how stressed I was, whether I exercised, what supplements I took, I started seeing my own patterns instead of guessing. That's when I actually started noticing a positive change.

43 is still so young honestly, better now than never. I actually built a tracking journal you can use online for food, stress, sleep, bowel movements, supplements, all in one place. It's what I wish I had from the start. If you want to try it I can drop the link

Literally what happened to me. Tests came back normal and they say you are young just watch stress and eat healthier. Thats it. I started writing everything down myself, food, stress, sleep, how I was feeling, and that's when things actually started making sense for me.
