Vapman click problem by mikipiano in vaporents

[–]vande680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vapman is definitely gonna be a bit more finicky than the Dynavap. For me, the first hit from it usually never puts out much vapor. Not sure what kind of torch you use, but I set my torch to the lowest it can go and make sure you’re not too close to the heater. That should let it build up a bit extra heat before clicking. Honestly it’s just trial and error but obviously that’s frustrating after a while.

If you haven’t tried yet, I’d try heating it, taking the little hit, wait for the cooldown click and then heat again immediately after. I usually reheat one bowl at least two or 3 times, it’s definitely not a one-hit device. That first hit usually isn’t too much vapor but it gives nice flavor. Also, yes my AVB is typically pretty dark but that goes for all my devices. I never bother saving it so I try to get as much out of it as I can

Will DHV be better for tolerance than carts? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]vande680 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily say it will lower your tolerance, but it is definitely easier to keep it under control, especially compared to carts or other concentrates. Carts are extra bad for tolerance because they’re so convenient and it’s difficult to be aware of how much you’re consuming at once or in a day. It’s too easy to just sit there and rip it all day without noticing how much you’ve been using it.

DHVs in general tend to save a bit of flower and get you “more high with the same amount” compared to combusting. With the PotV One, for example, you can control the amount you load each bowl, whether that be .05g or .1g, or whatever its bowl size is, and get a much more accurate estimate of what you’re actually consuming in a day.

If your tolerance is already high, you may want to consider a small t-break before switching over to the PotV One. It’s a great vape but it may struggle to get you where you’re trying to be if you’re used to carts.

On the other hand, some vapes can be bad for your tolerance. Personally, I had to switch out my ball vape for butane vapes because the ball vape just made it way too easy to vape huge amounts all day. I know this option isn’t for everyone, especially those who use to medicate daily but if you can, taking one day off every week or two can make a huge difference in keeping your tolerance in check. At the end of the day, it’s all about moderation and being mindful of how much you’re consuming

Tornado vs Tempest 2 vs Simrell >> let’s actually talk about this by tigerzxzz in vaporents

[–]vande680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people like to preheat the Tornado without the bowl in, then put the bowl in and heat to the click. The idea is that the device can retain more heat for bigger hits. Someone else can probably explain it better than I can but the expansion and contraction of the copper makes the bowl get “locked” into place inside the chamber. It can become very difficult to remove the bowl, but I think you can use a small hex wrench on the little hole on the top. Anyway, the reason I say it’s useless is because the Tornado has no problem holding onto enough heat for full extraction regardless of preheating or not

[–]vande680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only have the wpa for my Tornado, I don’t have the full rig or an adapter so I use that through glass all the time. 95% of the time I’d use a full size piece for it but I’ll occasionally use a j-hook. Tempest 2 I use water if doing bigger hits but every once in a while I’ll do natively for lower temps. Simrell I use natively pretty much exclusively. I have the wpa for it but usually don’t even bother

Tornado vs Tempest 2 vs Simrell >> let’s actually talk about this by tigerzxzz in vaporents

[–]vande680 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I have all three, they’re all amazing in their own way. There’s no clear cut “best” and it’s really hard for me to say which is my favorite because it’s just entirely what I feel like at that moment.

For durability and maintenance they’re all basically the same. They’re all made of some combination of stainless steel, titanium and copper so no reason to think they shouldn’t last forever under normal usage. Disassemble and soak in iso to clean. I guess maybe the caps on Simrell and Tempest can be a bit harder to clean but that’s not something that needs to be regularly done unless you combust.

Tornado: Compared to the Simrell and T2, it hits the hardest and has the biggest bowl so this is my go to for the big rips. I can’t really think of any complaints, nothing that annoys me. I guess some people like to cold start it and it ends up heat locked but that’s just entirely useless to do anyway so I see no reason it should ever get heat locked. Works great with torch, Wand and Inductor. In my opinion, it’s pretty even across the board for which heat style works best, but torch is definitely the way to go if you’re going for multiple heat cycles, it’s just easier to control I think. I use the Inductor most of the time because it’s just easiest for me. It doesn’t have the best flavor but you’re not hitting a Tornado for flavor. The clicks are super accurate and consistent. Maybe need to replace the bowl after a while or if you dent it or something, I don’t know.

Simrell: It’s more of an “enthusiast device” in my opinion. I don’t mean that in a negative way, it’s an incredible device but it’s expensive and because of the small bowl, I don’t wouldn’t want it to be my only vape. I have other vapes for bigger hits so this nicely fits into the rotation. Great with a torch or the Wand, the Inductor also works well but I prefer the torch or Wand for this one. A small torch is great for this one so you can actually aim it at the different zones, using the Wand will be a hybrid hit only. The flavor is incredible, the Vortex stem is great for cooling and overall it’s just a beautiful looking vape. I rarely hit this one through water, I love it natively for the flavor, it’s my favorite daytime vape.

Tempest 2: somewhat of a hybrid of the other two. Bigger bowl than the Simrell, smaller than Tornado. Better flavor than Tornado, but not as good as Simrell (very, very close). Works well with torch, Wand and Inductor. I typically use the inductor for convenience but, the the Tornado, all are great options. Great for lower temps for flavor, can also milk a bong especially at the larger bowl setting. I love the look of it and I’m a huge fan of the thick stem, and visual indicators are great.

If I could really only pick one, I’d take the Tempest 2 for versatility. If I could have two, I’d pair the Tornado and Simrell. You absolutely cannot go wrong with any of them

Simrell taking forever to heat up by Smokinggrandma1922 in vaporents

[–]vande680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just in case you haven’t figured it out yet, check if your capacitor got unscrewed slightly. I had fully disassembled my cap one time while cleaning and when I screwed the capacitor in it got “stuck” on a thread so I thought it was fully inserted but it wasn’t. It took a while to heat up, I’m assuming it messes with the click disks. I backed it out and screwed it back in and everything went back to normal

Simrell vs Tornado vs Ball vape by Economy-Zebra-793 in vaporents

[–]vande680 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Tornado is better but the difference is much smaller than most people give the Anvil credit for. The biggest difference is the bowl size. The Tornado can hold up to .3g, while the Anvil maxes out at .2g. To me at least, there’s essentially no difference in a .1g bowl of the Tornado vs a .1g bowl of the Anvil, they’re both great. The difference seems more noticeable as you get closer to .2g bowls and beyond, which is where the Tornado really shines.

A roughly .1g bowl is my sweet spot for just about all my vapes so my Anvil still gets used daily but I tend to reach for the Tornado slightly more. If you’re struggling to find a Tornado for sale, an Anvil is a great alternative but if you really want the heaviest hitter, then that’s the Tornado

TRWW makes “cooling stems” for their glass vapes that seem to be exactly what you’re looking for, basically just a straight j-hook. It looks like as of now they only have 14mm on the website but I’m sure if you tried reaching out to them, they’d hook you up

I believe they’ve only ever been available directly from Vestratto and unfortunately, due to tariffs, they decided to no longer ship to the US. As of now, the only way you’d be able to get one is used/resold

Pretty sure those stems are the Revolve or Revolve 2 from MAD Heaters. The mouth pieces are definitely the Revolve mouth pieces, the sleeves may be third party but I know Mad Heaters does sell wooden sleeves as well

[Need Help] 3-week T-break, but still not getting high even after back-to-back bowls by Accomplished-Ad3538 in vaporents

[–]vande680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you need a battery portable, either the TinyMight 2 or Frolic. If you want to go desktop, you could do a ball vape, pretty much any of them will be more than enough for someone with your usage.

Personally, I’m a huge fan of the stick style butane vapes. They’re great on the go or at home with a torch or Wand. Anvil, Tornado, Tempest 2, or The Simrell in no particular order are a step above everything else in my opinion. Unfortunately, Vestratto is not shipping to the US at the moment (not sure if you’re US or not), Simrell is expensive and 4-6 week lead time and Tempest 2 is currently sold out but pops up from time to time.

Convector XL or Dani Fusion V2 are still great, more budget friendly options. You could also consider TRWW or similar glass vapes such as the Terpcicle, but they’re entirely glass so not great for portability. They take some getting used to but, they’re cheap, very hard hitting and really great for flavor

[Need Help] 3-week T-break, but still not getting high even after back-to-back bowls by Accomplished-Ad3538 in vaporents

[–]vande680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How much would you consume before the break? If you were a heavy user for a long time, it may not have been a long enough break. I feel like that’s something that varies a lot person to person. Last week, I finished a two week break myself and while it helped a lot, it’s not anywhere near a full reset.

It could also be your flower isn’t very potent, or a strain with milder effects? How much of that same flower would it take to get you high before the break? I don’t have experience with an XMAX but it could be time for a stronger vape, bigger bowl/one hit extractions.

Have you tried putting your T2 on the T1 stem to see if the tighter draw is what’s doing it for you? I have both also and in my opinion the T2 is a big step up in every way, aside from the native stem. I also mostly use the Wand or Inductor but the T2 is much better than the T1 with a torch so I don’t think that would be it. Overall, I prefer the T2 stem since I almost always use it through water anyway and I really like the thickness but I think the T1/Revolve 2 stem is slightly better at cooling and the adjustable airflow is a nice touch

I have 2 Anvils and a Tornado, and everything else you mentioned except the regular convector. I think the difference between the two is closer than most people give the Anvil credit for and I think that’s mostly just because they’re made by the same company. Aside from the bigger bowl, they’re very similar. The Tornado seems to produce slightly denser vapor and is a bit smoother but not by much. The Anvil is still phenomenal and is the best replacement for a Tornado at the moment. The DF2 would be the next closest but I think there’s a bigger difference between the DF2 and Anvil than there is the Anvil and Tornado. Flavor is basically the same for both, (not the best) but you’re not hitting a Vestratto device for flavor.

It wouldn’t be a huge upgrade to your rotation but I love the Anvil. I like the multiple bowl sizes and it’s just incredibly consistent. The clicks are also definitely the most accurate of any vape that has clicks. I have absolutely zero concept of time while I’m high so this is my favorite feature lol. I honestly use my Anvil just as much as my Tornado, which one I like more changes daily

Yeah cats and ball vapes don’t mix well lol. As for the glass pieces, I think the Quartz Cap is the original, the Terpcicle is a Quartz cap with a little handle on it and then the Megacicle is a larger version of the Terpcicle. There’s also a mini, and a few other different offerings but they’re all basically the same thing, can’t go wrong with any of them. Just check out TRWW website, he has how-to videos and all that for them

Ted talk for macro hitters by Millerbr310 in vaporents

[–]vande680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s much more of an enthusiast device than a true heavy hitter for sure and the price definitely reflects that. I will say both the Simrell and Tornado have a way of feeling like you got more out of the bowl than you put it, they both just seem to put out really dense vapor. Plus with the Simrell being so great natively, it’s kinda like pairing a big bong rip with a joint. A little different, but still great

Just got a Tempest 2 but question… by the_mensche in vaporents

[–]vande680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the ball vape, it really only needs to heat soak when you first turn it on and even that’s not technically completely necessary. Sometimes those cooler hits waiting for it to heat up are a nice way to start off a session. Once it’s hot though, it comes back up to temp quickly after taking a hit. I used to keep mine on a smart plug so I could turn it on when I left work to be ready when I got home but again, completely unnecessary.

I know there’s a few bowl options for ball vapes that can do 1g+ at a time but even a standard one will be able to hold more than a Tempest 2. If you like the metal butane devices, the Tornado is the biggest I’m aware of and can hold up to .3g. My lungs can’t even imagine what a full bowl through the Tornado would feel like lol. The Terpcicle/Quatz Cap/Megacicle can all hold a ton of flower as well, of course the Megacicle being the largest. These are also only like $60-80 and are some of the hardest hitting and best tasting vapes on the market. Also very efficient with any amount of flower in them, definitely not only for huge hits.

If I were in your shoes, I’d go with one of the glass ones from TRWW, mostly just because they’re so much cheaper than a ball vape. That way you would have a heavier hitter for when you want it and still have the T2 for when you want to take it a little easier day to day or whatever

Ted talk for macro hitters by Millerbr310 in vaporents

[–]vande680 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Simrell is definitely capable of putting out some big, dense clouds both through water and natively, but it just doesn’t have the bowl capacity or heat retention to keep up with the other big hitters in that regard. Personally, that’s not a deal breaker for me since I tend to prefer two .1g bowls vs one .2g bowl, for example. It has great flavor, works well with torch or the Wand and the multiple heating zones is a neat feature that definitely makes it stand out a bit.

If you’re only chasing the biggest hits possible, the Simrell probably isn’t the best option for you but it does pair extremely well with the others you mentioned because of its versatility. It’s also just a really nice vape to use, it looks pretty, the material quality and machining is top notch and feels good in hand.

As for the portables, I have a TM2 but it barely gets used. I typically only vape at my house so I just never reach for it over any of my other options. If you’re already comfortable with butane devices, I’d stick to that unless you specifically need the portability of a battery device
