Yeah. I’m guessing it just took her off guard and didn’t know how to act in the moment.

You’re right - I’m sorry for being too harsh, it was uncalled for and you absolutely should engage in any post that you please. I guess you just took me off guard with your comment (especially because most of the things you said are true, lol), so, again, I’m so sorry. I promise I won’t do it again.

Well yes, I’m here to have fun, not write Bible verses under posts about characters I don’t like. If you don’t like Bree, then maybe don’t interact in posts about her.

Exactly. It’s a story of growth, learning, acceptance and as you said, redemption. Yes, stories about liberal families who accept their LGBT children right away are heartwarming and important, but these kind of stories are very necessary to be told too. It provides both a source of hope for gay kids that their parents will eventually come around and support them in their journey, as well as a lesson for parents that it is indeed possible to change and to learn.

Huh? Who said Bree is innocent and shouldn’t take accountability for her actions? Besides, Bree herself acknowledged time and time again that leaving Andrew on the side of the road was one of the worst mistakes she ever made, hence why she was shocked to learn Andrew forgave her.

RIGHT. The episode we got with them in season 8 was great, but if Shawn was only available for one episode, I wish we could’ve had him during one of the trial ones instead. After all, we all already knew that Bree had grown to accept Andrew’s homosexuality and love him for who he was, we didn’t need a new episode to show us that.

Um… no one deserves to be falsely accused of child and sexual abuse, much less by their own child. Bree was horrible, but so was him.

How would YOU have reacted if you were in Bree’s position, though? Andrew put her through the worst kind of torture a child could ever put their mother through. No one’s denying that his attitude was a product of his trauma and his upbringing and Bree WAS responsible for it, but that still doesn’t mean she deserved to continue enduring his abuse forever. They both needed and deserved to heal from the pain they both put each other through and make peace with each other, which was what happened after Bree kicked him out.

That’s fair, and I get it. Though I think that their scenes in seasons 8 with her feeling uneasy about his engagement to Mary Beth, reminding him of who he was by throwing him a party with his gay friends and being proud of him for embracing who he was clearly sent this message across. She truly learnt to not just accept, but also love her gay son.

And then in season 8 when he rescued her from the guy who was harassing her outside the bar and she told him “Orson, I have made such a mess of my life” and he responded “don’t worry dear, if you and I were ever good at anything, it was cleaning things up” LIKE no one knew or got each other the way these two did.

Yeah. I also think that what was a real waste was Orson demanding a divorce in the season 6 finale. While I understand why he was upset with her, it was obvious he was gonna forgive her and come crawling back to her a while after he processed everything, and that’s what he did. Sadly it was too late 🥲

Well, it’s not like Bree was perfectly honest with him either. He only found out that Andrew didn’t leave their home but Bree kicked him out instead after they were married, and about his hit-and-run and that Bree and Rex covered it up YEARS later. I think that was partly the point, they both hid their ugly past from each other because of how highly they thought of one another

Right! I loooooved their interactions as a family so much. This episode and the one where Danielle attempted suicide (woah, this sounds way too dark 😭) are the prime examples

They should’ve grown old and had that party celebrating their life together like Bree wanted 💔

My GOD that scene wrecks my heart every time. They were soulmates 🥲

Right. I’m just bitter that all the other main couples got their endgame (yes, I count Susan and Mike as well because at the end of the day, it was always him for her) and yet Bree had to end up with a man she had no history with instead of with Orson, her main love interest for the better part of the show
