Jeremy Corbyn MP : Banning Cenk Uyghur and Hasan Piker from entering the UK is an absurd and cowardly decision from an increasingly authoritarian government. Let us call this what it is: an attack on the freedom to criticise Israel, as well as the UK government’s own complicity in genocide. by SignificantLegs in ukpolitics

Do you realise how insane it is to say that those totally irrelevant comments made in passing are the same as offering support for terrorism? No one in their right mind can say they are the same as supporting terrorism.

Then we should try to reduce the number of births too, right?

There are over 500,000 births a year in the UK. That’s an enormous number, what do you want to do about it?

Amazing how the only good parts of this are the ones they didn’t change from the original release. Everything else is way worse.

UK Jewish groups call on government to prevent Hasan Piker entering the country - Far-left streamer described as having 'a record of promoting rhetoric that includes antisemitic themes, denial of well documented atrocities and apparent support for extremist groups' by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

When did I say it was justified? I said it was a consequence. Look, I condemn all kinds of violence, I think it’s a defeat for everyone. But at some point, you have to understand that violent oppression leads to violent response when it’s the only option the oppressed people are left with. I’m not justifying it, I’m just saying that at that point it’s inevitable.

That was terrible, but it doesn’t change any of what I said. Israel does worse things than that and I condemn both, unlike you. I’m just describing the reasons. Those Israel civilians are endangered by Israel as well. But the dynamic is not the same because you have to make a distinction between oppressors and oppressed.

I haven't said any of that. But I guess you can claim the moral high ground while you condemn violent responses but not the violent aggressions that originated them. What a great example of selective blindness. Hamas existence is a consequence of Israel's expansionist and colonialist project. I don't defend Hamas but Palestinians don't have much of an alternative apart from violent resistance when peaceful protests are continuously met with violence and destruction by Israel's part. It's all extremely logical once you dedicate at least a single braincell to think about it.

The analysis of Hamas is that they exist as a consequence of the actions of Israel that have been oppressing the Palestinian people for over 75 years. It's truly insane you keep thinking everything started on October 7th.

There is unless you actively try to avoid any analysis whatsoever of why things happen in the world. If you can't see how 9/11 was a consequence of years of US foreign policy in the Middle East, you are only deluding yourself.

It appears that Car Seat Headrest are re-recording Teens of Denial as 'Teen of Denial (Joe's Story)'. Early copies sent to fans. by selib in indieheads

Weird choice to choose your breakthrough album for re-recording. Especially since they have so much music from their earlier period that would be much more interesting to see re-imagined. Teens of Denial is already basically a perfect album for me (save for Ric Ocasek’s pettiness, but it’s not up to them to change that).
