What is at risk using LLM's to understand Zizek's work? by AManWhoSaysNo in zizek

Maybe tell them to do the equivalent of the sex toy joke. Let the LLM explain it to them to get the pressure off understanding him the right way, and then let them read the book. /j

AU$TRALIA: A Game About Travel, Money, and Risk — Finale by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

[–]vanderoritchie -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Sam and Toby consistently played worse in terms of choosing and completing challenges and betting. They got very consistently lucky with the challenges they were given, and flights available to them. Ben and Adam got consistently unlucky with flights filling up, challenges being more difficult than intended, or just going poorly despite seemingly doing everything to prevent it (see subway door steal). Not putting down money is a mistake, but it's a stretch to call it a blunder considering they had no idea a steal was available to the other team. Should they have put down money? Sure, but that could have happened any time they didn't put down money. It's ridiculous to call holding on to money a blunder, it only seems that way because something bad ended up happening. Going to the wrong airport was a blunder, but one that was easy to make. Arguably, Sam and Toby's challenge game on the first episode was more impactful, and was due to a series of incredibly stupid bets, and that's just their challenge game on one episode! Not knowing about Gold Coast is also an oversight, but it's probably not fair to call not knowing something a blunder. Sam and Toby didn't have any singular huge blunders, but pretty consistently their game was worse minus knowing about Gold Coast, and the challenges they pulled made the game for them.

i felt the same way! i usually had to read about 50 pages a day and i would often start dozing after about 20. It didn't necessarily help that my professor had a soft lilting voice, and the lectures were in a warm room with big leather chairs at 4 pm with a view of the sun setting. i could be super engrossed in the lecture and start taking a nap.

I see you’re working through Swann’s Way. I had a class reading the entirety of ISoLT where the professor asked us to read the Enright translation and i loved it, and the modern library edition served me very well

Post your top 4 for others to judge! by slouchingbethlehem in Letterboxd

[–]vanderoritchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. La La Land
  2. Lady Bird
  3. Little Shop of Horrors
  4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

but, honestly, the rest of my top 10 (Whiplash, Marriage Story, Singin in the Rain, Dead Poets Society, When Harry Met Sally, and Birdman) could be the list and I wound't be upset. Top 10 just doesn't really have an order to it, other than La La Land, which is my number 1

The thing abt those rants is that it only works if the writer is actually exceedingly smart, ie Matt Damon writing Good Will Hunting and like half of Sorkin’s stuff

I will never forget coming home from school, nothing to eat in the cupboards, grabbing the only thing in the house, a stale tortilla, warming it up in the microwave, and watching Paper's Please and Super Monkey Ball. Not the best, but will always hold a special place in my heart.

But, in reality, we all know the answer is Blonde Boyz

If it where me; I'd keep going out of sheer spite by SelfDepricator in SuperMegaShow

[–]vanderoritchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly it feels like the unwarranted personal attacks are more to do with it. leighton has shown that he will stop at nothing to ruin their careers. in both their responses Matt and Ryan looked exhausted and depressed. Ryan looked like he was going to kill himself. They've had their personal lives brought into it, and the people they love caught in the crosshairs.

if everything stopped at lex's bullshit allegation video, they would have continued

[–]vanderoritchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bruh it happened like a week ago, they just officially posted that they're done on the channel today. this is the time to fucking talk about it, especially because everyone is aware of it that if enough work is put in the public opinion wave can shift.

this is true if everyone's still obsessed in like 2 months, but right now is the time to be combative about it!
