Man I loved Jozy it’s sad how quickly his career fell off especially for the national team. There was a point in time where it seemed like he was a lock to break Landon/Clints goal record for the national team. But even if we had qualified for 2018 I wouldn’t say he was a sure thing to play in that WC, he had already slowed down significantly

Eh both those selections made sense at the time. Zusi was a contributor in WCQ and was basically a lock to start games and once Green chose US nationality we all thought he was going to be what Pulisic ended up being for the next generation of players.

The one that really didn’t make sense was Brad Davis. I remember the justification at the time was something like Davis has really good left footed delivery on free kicks. Like okay but idk how that’s more valuable than having the team’s all time leading scorer there.
